Speaking from experience i would go for 17s and no more than a 35mm drop, the 17s look so much better than 15s or 16s and give more grip, and with a 35mm drop the car will be quite good to look at, i originally had mine on 35mm Eibach Springs on 17s, then i went for 60mm on the same 17s (after...
mine is 2400 miles, so far:
radio taken out and radio code ordered for (Reno had no clue what it was)
drivers door taken apart to fix window fault
trip computer not working
glove box needs to be fixed
headlight needs replacing (involves complete removal of front bumper)

i had my 2000 clio lowered 60mm on 17s and the car now needs a new wheel bearing, something to bare in mind, IMHO the car cannot take 17s with that big a drop.

i dont understand why the removal of the bumper is necessary? It looks like the light would come off anyway? I suppose if they say it needs to be it needs to be? Just seems a bit silly to have to do that much work to remove the light unit?

they need to order a new mod for the glovebox to get it fitted right, and they have agreed that the car needs a new replacement light unit, and have therefore got to order one of those too. They also said that to fit the light will involve the complete removal of the front bumper. Bugger.
