My old 172 just ran breathing mods an coilovers an i dropped the wheel size to 15" due to better selection of tyres, but due to me having to use the car everyday I was kind of restricted to what I could do due to the fact it had to be ready for work next day haha. To begin with I'll just strip...
Plans sound good fella, i swapped my 172 for 197 late last year, but once me an the missus have sorted out buying our new house they'll be a ph1 172 project in the garage
I've had it in past with my old motor, no faults shown. See if your code reader will let you monitor parameters (i.e lamba sensor oparation etc) if it is only the basic mac tools reader it won't allow you
Remove the wheel an fastern a dti gauge to the disc an check the run out, could also be hub run out but more then likely discs warped as thats more common
Personally I'd go for the silenced if I was you pal, I had a oreca grp n system (very similar to omp inox) no cat an only 1 box. Sounded great if I'm honest but when it came to long journeys it sometimes got abit loud an anoying
I always start with the cheap basic's as danny said,
Plugs
Coil Pack (which i think i have a spare in my toolbox)
Injectors
Leads
If non of these cure its proberly something more siniseter
I thought you only gained the flat spots when de-catting? I haven't read anything yet about being able to map it out yet, maybe wrong :s Graph looks good, is your motor standard?
looks like you got to the bottom of then dude, i would of thought the map file from the ecu could be retrieved. probs be best getting in contact with tdf or rs tuning maybe?
Back when i was playing around with saxos, when i swapped my vtr engine for a vts lump i had to have the vts ecu "unlocked" to work with my immobilised unit. Not quite sure on the clio's though cause i aint done to much digging around on them
i mised my old 172 when i first brought my 197 but now i've got used the the 197's drive its an awesome car out the box an i can still get my mountain bike in the bike for when i want to hit the trails :)
