Switching ECU Query - Ph1 172

Car  182, SQ7, Trafic
Right so I have my old supercharged Clio ECU and the key. I want to run this ECU on my current car (supercharged too) for the time being until I've saved enough for the EC1 and mapping.

Plugged the ECU in and turned the CARs key in the ignition and the red light came on and went off as it should.

I then put the ECUs key in the decoder ring and turned the CARs key and the light flashed.

So it looks to me like the remapped ECU is unlocked. Unfortunately the car won't start though, fuel pump is priming and getting fuel at the rail.

Any ideas if the ECU is immobilised in any other way?

I'm going to try my original ECU and injectors for that car to see if it starts, if it doesn't I know there is a fault somewhere from putting engine back in, if it does then I'll be back here thinking the ECU is probably immobilised in some way!

Any help would be great :)

Thank you!

Back when i was playing around with saxos, when i swapped my vtr engine for a vts lump i had to have the vts ecu "unlocked" to work with my immobilised unit. Not quite sure on the clio's though cause i aint done to much digging around on them

Immobiliser is on the ECU and the light is behaving as it should which is messing with me?

have you switched the uch and immobiliser loop over as well? the ecu and uch are paired and need to match for it to work. not sure if the immobiliser loop is required, but when i bought a remapped ecu+uch I changed the loop over as well.

Have you tried locking the car with the key, unlocking, then trying it? Might sync everything up and allow it to start.

Original ECU for that car and original injectors and it starts fine, must be something locking out that ECU!

Thanks for the suggestions people :)

Like the phase 2, on the phase 1 the ECU and the MTU'S are both coded so it should start. Is the charged ECU also from a phase 1? Do you have access to any kind of code reading equipment?

Mick

I haven't changed the Multi Timer unit as I don't have that from that car unfortunately :(

I guess that's what I need then :(

looks like you got to the bottom of then dude, i would of thought the map file from the ecu could be retrieved. probs be best getting in contact with tdf or rs tuning maybe?
