Re: The story of a high mileage 172
Update:
So now we have shot past this, this month i had fitted matched inlets and a new steering wheel:
Here are my old inlets and the matched ones to compare
Ports could do with a good going over!
Valves don't look bad for...
lol its not a safety feature guys, its more a hazard than safety, come up behind a car then indicate and it cuts out - not good
Oh and its only just started doing this, it used to be fine, so i know it def not a safety thing
As above, 2005 Clio 182, when the CC is on, if you indicate to the right the CC switches off, as it does if you press a pedal, you then have to click the steering wheel button to switch it back on.
Steering has no change, it is only the indicator, and indicating left is fine, but every time...
Was about what i was thinking it was going to make matey, i did think that over 170 would need more mods
BUt as i said in the first place ignore the figures, on some one elses rollers it would make higher on others lower, its how it goes on the road, and now its mapped you can get on and...
^^ Exactly mate, spot on here, remeber low miles does not mean better car, my Ph1 has 130k and is kicking out 141 bhp @ the wheels, with just a cat back exhaust, which is more than other low mileage ones iv seen, and although my bodywork could do with a good PC, the interior is good, there is no...
Guys come on, ok so most people don't like the mods he has done, but this is an open club for all tastes, there is no need to start throwing nasty names around, or being nasty!
To the OP , in my opinion id go subtle, get it a bit lower, colour coded black with a nice set of 15s will finish it...
Every thread doesn't need to be based on performance you know ;):rasp:
Half yes half no, was a 70 mile drive on the motorway the A and B road in Wales, quite a nice drive
The 8v is 112 bhp, after 1986 and the 16v has 140 bhp, though the 16v's usually loose a bit, but 8v's seem to hold their power well
The 8v's came with a few different styles, believe it or not you could buy the 8v with steel wheels! Those were probably an option, VW do enjoy laking funny...
My 10p's worth is you cant quote any time at all when timing with anything like a stopwatch.
there is far too many variables in it, ie speedo error, and the fact by the time you have looked at your speedo, then thought 'here is 60 (which due to speedo error it wont be 60 more like 56) then...
engine movement mate, knocking from the front too, ktec suggested could be top mounts knocking, and as iv now replaced all engine mounts twice im at my wits end
Chap came into work yesterday, and had a 07 reg VW Transporter with 360k, now thats not the suprising bit...
He transports some sort of motorbikes over Europe somewhere, and on average does 180,000 miles A YEAR! last year he covered 190,000!
Try not to be down hearted fella, racings good and bad days, as you know, and im sure the lil lotus will be ok on the longer stints, probably just a bit of bad luck with the missfire
Sorry fella, i wrote that wrong, i meant i bought all the mounts new, thats how old they are.
Thats ever so kind of you, i live in Malmesbury, id love to have a look at your uprated mounts?
