ive got an ultrasonic cleaner. If you get it open to reveal the circuit board. I don't mind doing it for you FOC providing you cover postage. Ive done countless mobiles for my mates etc.

possibly just take a trip to the scrappers. there is sure to be ones with much better condition ones. The Mk1's tend to suffer from the bubbling etc. I imagine theyre expensive from reno. theyre 60 quid per door for a mk2.
you will probably find the clio is more on the insurance. Just look out for nackered synchro's in the box ( no grinding between gears). Common problems are usually electrical faults with airbag lights etc. If there is a fault don't not buy the car consult the forum and it could be an easy fix...
had proxes t1s, nice in the dry but understeered like hell in the wet, running Uniroyal Rainsport 1's now.. really good in the wet, seems poo in the dry but think it might be a shocker thats nackered. plus i got them for 56.84 fitted and balanced.

I think my n/s rar wheel bearing might have gone. i can hear like a whirring noise on smooth roads. its a mk2 ph2 (drums), how can i tell if its nackered? If it is gone whats involved with replacing it/price of parts?

still can't work out what this whining noise is. are wheel bearings a common problem? are they easy to change? how much can you get them for?

How tight should the bubber doughuts be on top of the suspension (IE those in the engine bay)?
Also im getting a strange whining noise coming from my n/s rear wheel. Sounds very feint and can only be heard on a smooth road doing less than 40. Fingers crossed its not a wheel bearing, the car...
