    Clio MK2 1.2 - Top Mount Issue

Yes the spacer is missing that slides down the inside of the rubber doughnut and holds it all together

    Martin's 1.2 16v Extreme 4

Ironically it still has MOT on it! but only a month or so, ill stick it for a test once ive given it a once over. There's a wheel bearing in the boot so assume it needs at least one of those :ROFLMAO: It has the usual ph3 peeling heating control panel, so ive got one on route from spain from...

    Martin's 1.2 16v Extreme 4

Gave the insides a shampoo as it was horrid. and a detar, clay and quick run over with the machine polisher.. Found a refurbished ph2 gear knob insert (gear pattern indented rather than printed on the ph3) Its an AC car, although some ersehole has removed the condenser and snipped an AC...

    Martin's 1.2 16v Extreme 4

A quick tidy up project, "Ill make an easy £500 on that"......... "I like that wee car i might run it for a wee while" - Usual story for me, been here before!.... Anyway, seen a 2005 Clio 1.2 16v Extreme 4 listed on eBay, Starting at £100, Pics were rubbish, description was rubbish. - But it...

    Small scale website cost

I think in days gone by you paid a web designer to build a website as it wasn't something you could easily do yourself without learning to write the code etc, but in the example above we were paying someone to use the tools designed to make it easy for the end user to actually build it...

    Small scale website cost

When i was helping my mate find a solution for his business website a few years ago, we got quotes from 4 or 5 local "web designer/social media support" businesses who seemed to be doing everyone's website locally, all 5 of them were building the website using online tools and were basically...

Oops I did it again... Adey's Clio 200 EDC

Awesome work, would love one of these on my Meg GT, I was looking at the engines a few weeks ago side by side as your right they are identical!

What could this be? Brake pedal clunk

Pad sticking in the caliper then freeing off when enough pressure is applied? Id strip the front calipers, clean up and grease the sliders and make sure the pads aren't too tight in the caliper

New member - with a question or two

Nice, what tyres does it have on it? Dealers generally stick ling longs on it and that will definitely make it feel floaty and disconnected.

    The new tool thread

I've found whenever i break a torx bit they swap them out with the solid ones rather than the security ones with the hole in the middle, seem much stronger

    Pulsing/rumbling noise when decelerating

strange one that, could be gearbox related when the load is removed from it but also could be wheel bearing related for the same reason. What happens when you do the same thing, lift off the power but then rock the steering left to right?

    MK2 PH1 1.2 8v Clio Grande - Tidy up project

Had the car out for a run to blast out the cobwebs before its MOT and it was clear it was down on power, sounded very odd, then i started getting a flashing orange EML. Plugged it in and it wasn't logging any fault codes at all which was odd, messed about swapped a few sensors i had spare that i...

Was fairly common in the UK...

    1.2 TCE (D4F T) in Clio MK4

Its available with a much better 6 speed manual, timing chains are not an issue on them and is natively available to drop into that platform where the D4Ft wasnt and will require a lot more work

    1.2 TCE (D4F T) in Clio MK4

You would be much better using the H5F 1.2 TCE 120 since it was available in the mk4 clio, That way all you would need is the engine, box, engine loom and ecu/BCM/keycard id imagine

    Clio 3 1.2 TCe 101hp (p0300 code)

yes but is it the correct plugs? 1.2 16v and 1.2 16v TCE are different. once plugs and coil pack/leads are ruled out id be looking at injectors, thermostat and upstream lambda

Coilovers - confused which bolt spacing you have?

Every ph2 1.2 16v I've ever seen was 58mm. My ph1 1.2 16v had 52mm, but they use the same smaller front brakes as the 1.2 8v (but the discs are vented) which also runs 52mm hubs

Clio MK3 Boot Stuck Shut :(

its generally always the switch on them, every one ive owned has had a failed boot switch, they are cheap to change. You can open it from the inside if you climb into the boot from the back seats and flick the latch with a screwdriver

    1.6 power upgrade

as above, 2.0 16v is the best way to go, not a lot of power to be had from the 1.6 realistically. Yes people will tell you the Super1600 cars are based on the same engine with 220bhp but there's very little left over from the original engine. 172/182 engines are getting expensive now and the...

    What Car after a 182?

Think i need to add a V6  There's been a lot more but an example of each variant. all have had pros and cons, MK2s are simple and relatively cheap to maintain, MK3s are not. Excluding that reason im not sure id ever choose a MK2 RS over a MK3 RS! - MK4 was for me the best out of the Clio...

How much downforce does the 197 diffuser give?

Talk about rose tinted glasses, I stay off the Facebook groups as it's full of mongs "not like the good old days on the forum" Turns out we were just as bad 😂

Clio 200 considerations - rust etc

As above rust was an issue at the base of the windscreen where improper fitted windscreens rubbed and caused premature rust, most were repaired under the 12yr anti corrosion warranty however, my mate for his done with 3 days left on it, and they even replaced the replica cup spoiler with a...

Are Brembo brake pads supposed to be crap?

yes the cheap Brembo pads sold by everyone like ECP now are just cheap Chinese pads where they have licenced the Brembo name to sell them. Mintex M1144 have always been my go to pads for a fast road Clio, i believe they have have been replaced with something newer but I've not researched it
