I'd forgotten about the Mini..... but for 182 money, your looking at the 115 bhp Cooper, which is WELL underpowered, especially considering how lardy it is.
In fact, in some roadtests I've seen (Autocar perhaps), the 182 was actually just as quick from 0-100 as the Cooper S Works!
I mean cars you can buy today. I know the 182 is coming to the end of its life as well, but what else is out there that is a serious rival to the 182? I really for the life of me, cant think of many....
Lets forget about Astras (VXR), Focuses (ST), and Golfs (GTI), because they are rivals to...
I love all the people who reckon they've never pirated a game.... when I went to school, EVERYONE pirated games. The situation has not changed now, as far as I can tell...
Nevertheless, its a good job somebody buys them, or they'd never get made. I have a hard time believing that nobody on here...
As title really, the dealer says its because of the alarm, but surely it should work anyway? It only actually ever seems to light up when I press the butoon on the keyfob, but I'd expect it to lock your doors when you press it when your inside the car?
I saw the other thread, and the guy has my sympathies... and I'm not being funny either, but I dont see the problem with asking this question. I didnt do it to be insensitive to anyone, I genuinely want to know.
Right, bottom line:-
I know a professional thief will "have it" regardless.... but...
How easy is it for a thief to steal an otherwise unprotected 182 - i'm talking just the std alarm / immobiliser. I saw a Pug 306 today in a place where i park relatively regularly in newcastle with the door bent open, and it got me thinking how easy it is to nick one of these?
I've got a...
Thing is my old Mk2 GTI certainly wasnt drive by wire, and that still benefited from a more progressive approach, which contradicts what people are saying here.
Dont know the reasons for it, but yes, and I've found the same in pretty much every car I've driven. Something to do with back pressure somebody once mentioned to me, if you floor it, the engine does not work its most efficiently.
I've got a standard one - never driven a cupped one, but the suspension is still pretty firm, and the handling still pretty good. I guess you dont miss what you've never had. The standard car has noticably firmer suspension than my Mk2 Golf GTI did, and is a lot harder than my old Fabia vRS...
Ah... thanks for that, I've just had a look and sure enough, there is a sizeable hole in the wing mirror. Might try covering that up and see if it helps. Cheers guys :)
I know what your saying, but i dont do that - its like when i pull into a parking space, i'll often dip the clutch (car still moving) thats when i notice it.
Thanks for the replies so far, good to know i'm not alone - and i'll try the mirror. At first i thought it might be the wipers as my dads old AX GT used to make a whistle sound from the wipers, but i just use the wipers when its happening and it doesnt make any difference. I'll try the wing...
I'm just wondering if its normal for the 182 to have lumpy idling. Its like you can feel the engine being lumpy. Its not apparent when the car is cold, and once on the move its fine. It is not close to cutting out or anything, its just not particularly smooth. I'm running optimax BTW, but I've...
Hmm, so who is right? My literature clearly says its 1035 kg... which admittedly seems incredible as my Mk2 Golf was only 115 kg less than that, and that had no ABS, AC, PAS, Electric everything, airbags all over, and all that other crap that comes with it.
I've read various topics on the weight of the 182, and have read anything from about 1090 kg to 1150 kg. It seems clear to me that not many people *really* know the weight of it.
However, according to my handbook (the seperate Renault Sport one), it weighs 1035 kg. And it is the one for the 182...
Crikey, I had no idea they took that long to warm up... this is why when i got it i was disappointed it didnt tell you somewhere the oil temp - even my 15 year old Golf GTI tells you this!
Nevertheless that would have been fully up to temperature well within the time of that journey.
On my way home tonight, I noticed the car limiting my revs to less than 7000. I've read the other posts about the car not being warmed up... But.... you'd think after 9 miles of motorway speeds at 75 mph in 7 deg celcius temperatures that the oil would be warmed up by now??? How long does the...
Yep, sure have. Strange...
Its a bit disconcerting in some ways as if yor using the cruise control to control your speed (like i sometimes do), i'm always slightly uncertain as to whether i should trust the speed the cruise is saying i'm doing or whether i should trust the dial...
I've used them for ages and I've never seen any swirls or scratches.
Its too cold and I generally dont have time to wash my car myself at the moment. So I'd be better off leaving all the crap on the car and never washing it? Don't think so :p
Besides which, I'm not exactly planning to keep it...
