My 182 appears to have more of a gap between the wheel and arch at the front of the car, than at the back. The difference is quite marked. Is this normal?
Sorry if this is regarded as being in the wrong forum, I wasnt really sure where it should go, so feel free to move it if you want.
Anyway, its not something i plan on doing imminently, but i was wondering, when the suspension goes on the 182, is it just as cheap to get a good aftermarket kit...
Speed isnt the point. Its a very special car, and I'd have one any day of the week over any 182, Cup, Williams or indeed, any other FWD hot hatch.
I bet it *feels* quick, with the engine sharing cabin space with you, making an almighty roar as it goes, and with all that torque and RWD pushing...
I heard for around about £2k you can get 210 bhp out of it, and keep the warranty intact too.
Nevertheless, I actually doubt it would be all that much quicker than the Clio even if you did, as the ST is quite a heavy car in comparison.
Indeed. Speaking personally, I wouldnt bother - if I wanted that much power, I'd buy a car designed for it in the first place.
Actually for me, part of the Clio's appeal was the fact that, for what it is, out of the box, it is excellent, and doesnt really need modifying. Of course, some may...
On paper, theres no way a standard GTI 16v will keep pace with a V6. The 16v are 139 bhp when in good condition, and many that are still standard are probably slightly down on that. 0-60 of one of those is about 7.6 on a good day, and will hit the ton in about 23 seconds.
Of course if it were...
This is what I dont get see, why do prices vary so much even between main dealers. I mean, one place charging £400+ and another less than £200, for the same thing.
It was the same when i had the skud.... I got charged £175 for a 10k service there, and then went online and found that some...
I use Optimax - after all, it says in the manual and on the filler cap that its "98 recommended". I see no point in buying such a nice car as the Clio and then filling it with cheap petrol.
I've heard a lot of people say that Clio's are girls cars.
However, I've hardly ever seen a girl driving an RS Clio. However, most Civic Type R's I see are driven by girls!
Heh!
The mk2 Clio is practically the last car that can make a claim to be "light" for a modern hot hatch. Even that is not exactly that light, but compared to the modern cars its a featherweight.
I wont be buying any new cars until they sort out their weight problem.
As usual for modern cars, they all look the same, they all weigh more, and the driving experience will be even more isolated than many of the cars of today.
The new one will have more power, and more efficient, but wont be any quicker in real terms and will feel more isolated.
Cherish your...
As long as the garage is block exempt, it is illegal for Renault to make your warranty invalid, and if they try, just tell them this and say you'll see them in court, that'll soon change their minds.
No I wont be going to a main dealer. I've been ripped off enough in the past by these greedy...
Yes but why "just manage" when you could buy something far cheaper and more economical [than the car you are considering] and do better than "just manage".
If you really wanna save money, then I'd be looking for a second hand TDI of some description for less than the price you get.
Doing what you are planning is not going to make a huge difference TBH.
A VW Lupo 1.4 TDI Sport / Seat Arosa 1.4 TDI Sport will both do 70 MPG on a run. OK its a...
I thought there was 2 Astra Turbo's in the latest body, one a 170 bhp model the other a 240 bhp model???
If you come across an Astra VXR, dont even bother trying to race one of those!
