What did you upgrade from? Was there a notable difference?
I think I'll probably just get the i5. They seem to overclock pretty well too from what I have read.
I have decided to upgrade my C2D to some quad core goodness, but really cannot see any reason to go for the i7 over i5.
I use the PC to play games, and have a 4870 1GB card which will not be upgraded for the time being. I also need to edit large photos (21MP) and full HD video files...
A mate of mine has been using a N900 for a couple of weeks now and is happy with it, aside from the battery life. It does look like a nice but of kit, but is certainly chunky.
The latest bunch look okay to me in terms of sharpness but it is hard to say without seeing the 100% crops.
It looks like you had tricky light to work with too, cloud infront of the sun kills colours. You can sort this out with a bit of fiddling in Lightroom or Photoshop in a few clicks...
^ Really nice shot. Would make a nice desktop wallpaper.
I managed to snap the head off my tripod just before I went on holiday so will have to buy a new one before joining in the fun. :D
I'm going to have to call a timeout on this. I am on holiday in the arse end of the world and they have not been connected to civilisation yet. Look forward to seeing peoples shots next week when I have a connection quicker than 1k.
My PSU would melt at the thought of running another card! Upgrade time again soon I think. :D
The only question is i5 or i7... but that is for another thread.
Impressive noise (or lack of) at 2500! I had to use 3200 & 6400 the other night in desperation and was pleasantly surprised how they came out considering but I think your D3 would be better.
Cheers Ben. That's the one upside of the sunrise/ sunset being later/ earlier. It was stunning yesterday though, hence the pic, even if it was through a dirty window on the 12th floor.
I bought an external case with an e-sata connection. It is loads faster than USB and saves hours on my backups. When you get into TB territory, it is definitely worth getting e-sata if you are actually going to be transferring 1TB of data regularly.
It cannot find my phone, which is a fairly common problem at the minute looking through the forum.
itunes is okay to use, I just wish that it could monitor media folders and update itself automatically when new songs are added outside of itunes.
