I remember reading an interview with a guy who worked for TVR/ owned this. He said that driving through traffic meant leaving the door open as it got so hot inside from the engine.
Would love to have a ride in one though!
If you can stretch to it, I would go for the IS. It is weather sealed too which is a bonus! I think the IS on the 70-200's allows for horizontal panning too, it just reduces vertical movement.
I honestly couldn't say as I have no experience with them but a no brand company is not going to be using good quality glass.
The nikon branded converter is around 100 pounds more so it is probably a case of you get what you pay for.
You don't need to be a pro to use a good camera... but it depends on how far your want to take it. If you are going to get serious about taking shots, then you will always find yourself wanting some of the features of the higher models if you get the base camera first.
If you are not sure, get...
I have used the D300 and would have had it over the 40D any day if I could have stretched to it and sold all my old kit.
My advise, save up a bit longer and get the D300... it is a fantastic piece of kit.
I can relate to that... I am ashamed to say that I get better results setting the camera to take B&W photos than doing it in PP.
Nice shots above though, very fitting with the classic cars. The composition of the second one makes it best of the bunch.
28mm is not that wide on a crop camera. The 17mm lenses are the newer versions of a walkabout for canon. as they offer the same range as the 28-135 did on a 35mm film SLR. (The XXXD, XXD have a crop factor of 1.6x)
17mm x 1.6 = 27.2mm
85mm x 1.6 = 136mm.
It depends if you use the wide end of...
£10 less, not ten times less. ;)
Canon 50 f1.8 = £50-£80
B&W CPL = £35-£90.
You can get cheaper filters of course which makes it more worth doing..... but then you get arguments about quality etc etc.
