Pretty sure revs on the dash is taken from engine speed and nothing to do with wheel speed at all on these. Wheel speed on the dash is adjustable within a few parameters for different size wheels and tyres via clip.
@RustyMojo I'll have to see how I'm on the day bud, currently in hospital but will hopefully be out by then and able to come along 👍🏻 I may take the shortest/quickest route for me if i do though so don't wait for me.
Just to be the other guy, I've reused the sump gasket on a few engines with no issues at all. I just make sure its clean, no splits and sits slightly proud of the groove. I had one that was flush so i replaced it. Never used sealant on an f4r.
So had a little play in it today, nothing too mad as obviously stopping and sprinting to 60 on the road isn't all that fun. Wheelspin central 😂 that said Dragy clocked a 5.47 0-60mph and I can just clip it in 2nd gear. For comparison a new 4wd Yaris GR does it in a very similar time👍🏻
I also dug out a picture of my old SC Clio's quarter mile time slip from just over 10 years ago! Took a lot of Facebook digging to find it. This is my personal target to beat in the Twingo, both have roughly the same horsepower, the Twingo has loads more torque but the SC 172 delivered it a lot...
I went and checked back on my original build thread, the rear seats I mention in the video actually weighed in at 19kg each! I removed all of it and weighed it back in the day (see here) 67kg of weight was removed from the car so I've basically gone back to that. A lightweight battery and seats...
The UK's fastest Twingo Challenge.
Whilst I'm aware its not a supercar slaying machine it is pretty spritely, so I've challenged myself to have the UK's quickest quarter mile Twingo mk2, a 1 horse race against myself maybe? It should be a good laugh and using a Draggy and eventually/hopefully...
Spiking will be the actuator but its pretty inherent in all smaller turbos, you will struggle to eliminate it completely running manual control. Old school lag slag turbos have less of an issue as they spin up slower and things react faster. Modern ecu's have lots of strategies in place to...
on a Clio? I've got an old version of clip that I haven't dug out for a while but it only worked on Clio's nothing newer. I will see if I can get it working again
I've added some speed holes...... well its more a hope it may help, the back on the car gets quite light and skittish at speed, the last car I had this on was my old supercharged Clio which could also do double motorway speeds with little effort. I did it to that, and well I think it helped. The...
So you gain power running it? I've been thinking of getting one for my Twingo f4rt just to keep intake temps screwed right down but will definately consider it if i can gain a few bhp too (y)
I spent some time putting together an intro vid for the Twingo, just trying to cover a lot of the questions I get asked regarding it and giving a little bit of info if you wanted to do the same/similar thing. Its long and poorly edited and probably misses most of the info you want but here it...
ive had a dodgy pre cat lambda ruin a cars drivability and fail to the point of stopping it running so fingers crossed its as simple as that for you (y)
EDIT, even found the post and thread from 2014

The one pictured is designed for a carb and wont be suitable at all.
I've never seen a fuel filter on a uk 172 but adding one shouldn't be too hard, take the fittings and filter hanger off something in a scrap yard and make it fit
The seagulls at work made it look like the twingo had been at a bukkake party so I gave it a clean down. Looks OK but could do with a professional going over. I absolutely hate cleaning cars, so much effort. It always looks red in pics too, though it's more metallic burgundy? 🤷🏻♂️
It's has indicated in excess of 140kph 😉 on a private airfield. I let up before the car did, gets a little brown trouser when you click what you are doing and what you are in.
Found this awesome comparison video randomly on YouTube.... showing what an old pretty brisk Tuned Twingo GT goes like against one with a bigger engine in it...
Cheers, i enjoy the figuring out and fixing side of things (plus the building) gives me something to think about. Hopefully ill have no little issues left in a week or so making it feel like a near factory car/conversion.
Like most of my parts from the build they are from a very good friend of...
WOW its like a new car again, hello Mr limiter 😂
I can confirm that the new pump has cured another issue i didnt really notice. I have lots of power and it revs right round now where I used to shift when the power felt like it was flattening out. Clipped it a few times this morning without...
It looks like I may of had another fault but not really realised. Recently I've kind of thought the car, though still fast was a little flat. I put it down to the ambient temps being higher and just generally getting used to the power as you do. Yesterday whilst doing a pull it hesitated then...
