Have you checked you battery recently? You'd be surprised how many of the Clio's electrical faults are caused by a low battery charge.

Stick a butter knife, credit card or something else flat and rigid under the plastic and work it away from the door, then pull it towards you and unhook the wire that opens the door, that's how it works on a mk2, I can't see a mk3 being any different.

Couldn't tell you mate, I just upgraded mine when I knew it was to blame, it stopped the knocking when lifting on and off the throttle, then I bought Vibratechnics/K-Tec engine mounts which stopped the excessive engine movement I had.

Does sound like you need to replace the mounts, start with the dog bone it's the cheapest, Powerflex bushes are around £40 quid.

It could be your dog bone mount's knackered, or maybe the top mounts, is the knocking coming from underneath the car?

Vibratechnics mounts didn't ruin my daily, they just stopped the engine movement and manifold knock.
