Ive got loads of respect for 5 Turbos and would love to have owned one, its just that looks disgusting IMO - really tasteless. I know youre after a quick car but surely you could find a mint one thats a bit more of a street sleeper than a Max Power wannabe, especially coming from such a smart...
Id have thought 90-100 degrees is about optimum oil tempertaure anyway, so I wouldnt bother if it never or rarely creeps above this. Modified engines may benefit and like BenR says, must be very valuable on a track where your car will be taking a pasting over a relatively long period of time.
Get under your car and put your hand near the joins in the exhaust when the engine is running - you should be able to feel if the exhaust is blowing. They may not have fitted it properly.
What are the best speakers that will fit in the original speaker postions of the Clio 1. Im stripping my valver so dont want the weight penalties of extra speakers but want best possible quality from orginal positions.
Any recommendations welcome!
Try BJV Engineering at http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.ukwww.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk and see if they can help. The work on their website looks top banana, not too expensive and I think they are based near Hemel Hemptstead which isnt a million miles away from you. Think Im gonna get me turbines...
I would say it depends on the road type/surface. Wouldve thought that the Williams set-up would be more forgiving on bumpy, twisty B-road type scenario, but a coilovered valver would be more suited to a smooth sweeping A-road. Just my opinion though - feel free to flame!
Sorry to hijack the thread but I have exactly the same problem on my valver - only it shows badly on a white car and is pissing me off! Can anyone recommend somewhere in the Reading area where I could get this arch cut-out treatment done to a high standard.

Naples red is a mint colour and rare as rocking horse sh*t anyway. No need to modify the bodywork at all IMO. If you do, just make sure theyre reversible mods and keep the original bits.
It looks like theyre sending the 182 round the track later on in the series from the look of the video at the start of last nights show - and we all know how similar the cup and 182 are performance wise!;)
Hot air is less dense so you will reduce the volumetric efficiency of your engine - i.e there will be less air per unit volume sucked in, meaning less oxygen to burn the fuel with and therefore you wil lose power

Just to give you an idea, air at 0...
What your gauge is reading sounds perfectly normal to me mate, I really wouldnt worry about it. Seeing as the one pictured above was specced for a 1.4 engine and you have a more powerful 1.8 that produces more heat, you would probably end up hotter than before!
I think youre much less likely to get a ban if you go to court and show some genuine remorse*, rather than trying to squirm out of it with the old "has your equipment been calibrated" trick. 99.9% of the time the equipment will have been, and youll just look like another idiot trying to get away...
I reckon youll be ok, a mate went to court for 99.6mph and got 5 points and a fine - youll just have to slow down a bit as you are treading a very fine line!

I think they look good! Theyre FIA approved so cant be that bad, and they only weigh 8kg!
Just get the best looked after example you can find and sod the colour - thats not the most important factor when buying an old car.
If by some miracle you manage to find very well looked after examples of each colour then I would say naples red - bubbles has one and it looks very very nice...
