Right OK. So if I ring them Monday morning as they are shut tomorrow and explain I would like to pay for it and see how that goes..they can't force me to claim on the insurance surely?
Oh well.
I'm not too fussed about the cost of the wall its more my insurance I'm worried about. Excess is close to a 1000 I believe, I don't mind paying for the repair on the wall.
Yeh there might be a tad more but not a lot. It was only about 5 bricks high aswel.
On the blower to some of the lads in the trade now so I'll see how it goes.
Can they force me to go through the insurance?
Can't believe the entire thing came down though
I will get somebody to rebuild it if they want to take it further. My excess is about 600 quid, a wall won't cost anywhere near that surely?
I will have a word with some local brickies and see how much they would charge..
Well car has been playing up recently where the clutch won't disengage properly.
So I took it to halfords auto centre today because I couldn't get it into gear and as I was parking I hit the wall like a numpty. I only clipped the corner and the entire thing fell down. The car is hardly marked...
havent has my second lambda plugged in for 3 years, still runs perfect and i havent seen the eml light since my remap was done 2 and half years ago, im starting to question weather my light works or not!
Removing the valve on a sport makes zero increase in sound anyway.
ERM if you want more noise without an ik you could try removing the cold air feed pipes if your air box has them, or drilling some holes in the air box (very much a gypo thing to do but does give noise)
so garage said they will change the kit And belt but i havent got any holiday days left and they dont open sundays so ill have to tackle it myself.
belt has been fine since i put it back on myself so i think all the pulleys are fine, it just wasnt fit properly.
so
bumper off
slam pannel off...
Yes the pipe going to the inlet needs to be blanked off, I put a screw in secured with silicon, worked very well.
no idea about the carbon canister pipes though, but would be nice to know because I'm going to take mine off next week
I'll see how it gets on now I've repositioned it.
I slackened the belt off completely and made sure it was on the tooth closest to the engine on the crank as there seems to be a tooth too many on the crank. Im wondering if that's why its worn more on the left because the extra groove on the...
Also, is it OK to get rid of that annoying bit of carpet next to the pulleys? I can't see it doing any good other than the fact it appears to be rubbing on the belt
Well I just decided to brave it seen as its bank holiday, I'm off, the garage that did it will be off and I didn't fancy driving it like it was so after a lot of arising about with a jubilee clip I've managed to straighten the belt back up.
Strange thing is that all the pulleys seemed...
No they didnt.
when i left the garage it was fine, i live about 20 miles from where it was done, i drove round the block for half an hour before setting off back home and all was ok. Then when i checked today after a week off it was badly again
It was a specialist, im not saying who though...
Update.
Took it back to the garage who corrected the problem.
I havent had a chance to look since i got back from having it sorted but i checked it earlier on today and the belt appears to be back out by a tooth on the PAS pump again.
Could my car be at fault? Or could it be a fault with the...
i think its just pot luck with the ebay specials mate, i got one, didnt work, a couple of mates got em, 2 worked 2 didnt.
They are made to a very poor standard
i always just take the dash off. makes life so much easier because i like to know none of my cables are been stressed so i can position them perfectly with the dash off, put the unit in and put the dash back on.
dash only takes about 15 minutes to remove
yeh hopefully they may know for sure but it certainly doesnt look right, but i cant remember what it looked like before tbh but its was fine for 3 years and i cant remember seeing any wear like on this one
Had my aux kit changed last week by a reputable garage but im a little worried as it seems to be wearing more on the left hand side already, could someone have a quick look at my pics to see if it looks normal.
Shoot me down if you like, I know its a common question but a simple answer would have Took about the same amount of time to type as 2 posts saying you need to search.
the standard olive joint is pretty crap, i sold my decat and bought a sleeved pipe to fit into the center section, much better.
however for your problem when i had the same joint as you i bought some black silicon thats heat resistant and put loads of it around the olive joint and then clamped...
