The Energy lumps are bullet proof engines! Can take some serious abuse and easy to maintain. These come in 1.2 and 1.4 varients. Also, as mentioned the F7 series are nice hard pulling engines with a nice engine note, but aren't as easy to work on as Energy lumps (being larger capacity and 16...

1598 cc 4 cyl 8v, MPi engine producing 90Bhp. Origianly part of the Energy range of engines and first seen in the Megane in 1995. Also has a 110Bhp 16v version 'K4M' as used in the Mk2 Clio RSi.

That is gorgeous ^^ In the same boat richyygti, going from a Valver to a 172 Cup. For the money there really doesn't seem to be anything as new, quick and beautiful as a 172 Cup. Just gotta keep saving now for a goodun :)

My Valver is lowered 35mm front and about 50mm back (damn pikeys) and it's a pain in the ass at some places and a couple wont even touch it :(

Well if it's an F7P it'll be 1764cc which is what should be in a Valver. An F7R is 1998cc and has a white dot on the dipstick.

N#ah I find the water temp too tempramental and unreliable. Oil pressure follows a trend. First 15 minutes of driving and I find water temp is a bit hit or miss then will eventualy settle.

At college a mate had a VW Polo and our IT teacher had a VW Golf and he could open her car and start it up with his key. True story.

Normaly under 3k foe the whole journey tbh lol. I don't bother timing it. Usualy go by the oil pressure as this is relative to oil temp(to a degree)...not water temp or any crap like that. But yes, that is usualy within about 10-15minutes. Deffo find it drives along the dual carriageway...
