I'll replace the shots with daytime ones tomorrow. The delocking makes such a difference. As for the mesh - I think the 172 now looks more 'v-va-voom' than 'Nicole'. There were too many lines on the original front, making the car look too busy.
Wheels and interior still to come - hopefully...
Just got my 172 back from the bodyshop. Thought you'd like to see what they've done. I await the backlash from the purists. I'm happy, and that's what counts.

:o :dapprove: Really embarrassed about this Ben (Len) and you have been refunded already. I'm not up on my exhaust systems and assumed that this was it, and that it needed welding to your manifold section. After seeing the car on the ramp at Rentech last week, it did look strange as I have two...
There are a number of deals around at the moment on wheels and tyres, but which are the better tyres. I appreciate that none of these are probably top notch rubber:
yokohama parada
yokohama A539
Toyo Proxes T1R
Kumho (ha ha) SPT KU31
Falken ZE-512
Falken FK 451
Hancook ???
I got one as well. The quality is quite poor up close and no it isn't carbon. Also, when I fitted it my engines idle went up which I tracked down to one of the front manifold bolts. Once eazed off the idle returned to normal. I think I'll return mine, once I can get the Torx bolt I rounded off
Has anyone fitted one of these to their clio (K-Tec do them). Does it make much of a difference. I'm actually looking to get one for the aesthetics, but wondered how they performed too.
I think you've answered your own question. Your car would not be considered road legal, therefore your car won't be covered by the insurance. It would come down to how thoroughly they checked your car in the event of a crash. The risk is up to you. I removed the decat on my 172 and went for a...
Yeah, you need to make it really moist to get the best result. Take your time though and use gentle pressure - don't prod it; although some do respond to a rougher/more aggressive process. Once the job's done, you need to wipe away the excess moisture, then show your mates your result. ;)
I believe that a closed cold-air feed actually deadens the sound of the air filter somewhat, if you are worried about noise. Still louder than standard though.
Hmmm, I know I can record the CD into my computer and then create the mix as a single MP3 but that means recording in real time, or some editing together of the individual ripped tracks in cubase/logic etc - pain in the arse!
How does an ipod handle mixed DJ CDs that have individual track markers. Will it play the album seamlessly (unless it's jules or tongy), or 'jerk' between tracks?
The blue plastic in my 172 is driving me nuts and I'm looking to alter the interior, possibly for a classic GTi look in red, black and grey. Has anyone here done their clio's interior mild or extreme pics welcome.
I have a Mk1 172 and it has blue plastic interior parts ie dash top, door speaker covers and handles, are there any other colours from other clios available that could be used to replace them - preferably black?
Also, the top module that shows radio station, time and temp seems to be a...
Thw work is all done, and what a piece of work it is too. I now have a sport cat, centre section and back box with stealth pipe (had to keep that look Mike) and hearing - which then made me realise how crap the standard ICE system is, so I'm having that tinkered with now. Gone for a basic Alpine...
Double thumbs up for Pro Speed. Just had a sports cat and back box with stealth pipe fitted and it does exactly as I asked. As others have said, you can tailor the exhaust to whatever you want. Didn't meet Charlie, but he rang me to see that I was happy, now that's good service in my mind. The...
Just wanted to say thanks to Charlie at Pro Speed for his patience and advice to a novice recently. I'm now booked in for a sport cat, back box and Venom induction kit fitting. Can't wait for Wed, and for my hearing to return.
I want to update the sound system in my mk1 172. Nothing too fancy; I just want to fit better speakers in the original positions and get a new head unit that I can either plug an ipod into or some form of data card (USB/Smart). What are you recommendations? Budget around £500, and second hand ok.
