Not true. The lacquer he has used will be dry in 24 hours, truly hard in about 48-72. You're thinking about wheels that have been baked in an oven that require time before being sealed due to gas release. OP you'll be fine after a week at the absolute max.

TarX products work more quickly if they are not diluted (i.e. water already over the area), so yes, if you can open hose the car to near as damn it dry, that's ideal. IronX works perfectly well on a wet car, however, so no need here.

No offence Tom but this is usually down to the tyres still being slightly damp before application. I've had it when I rushed application.
