As long as the mods haven't caused the problem. You may want to take them of to be on the safe side. I seem to have a similar problem at the minute but I'm not sure if it's an old problem and the oil hasn't been cleaned up so I'm cleaning it up to see if anymore appears. I don't have warrenty...
I find it hard to buff at times, thin as poss is the key but I also find it hard to get an even thin coat, if using very little product and trying to apply thinly it always seems to miss bits.
Get the chav image with saxo though. Can't beat the RS-1 for the power/speed at that price, age and with the equiptment it comes with. IMO of course. He's the gay one mate.
I had the same problem acrebo. A long, thin, flat headed screwdriver is a necessity. Push it right underneath to the very back and prise up. A fair amount of force is required. It will click out of place and should the pull out.
Deffo the sport I think. 55000 miles is fine, 55000 km is nothing. What is the conversion rate for $ to £ so we can try and give you an idea as what to say for your first offer. Ideally you want to have a price in mind that you'll pay and start a fair bit lower than that to bring them down to...
To be fair you're lucky it's just a hole, most fall off! Pro Speed if you're willing to travel to Cardiff. Definately worth the journey though IMO. Other than that a local powerflow!? :dead:
I've sprayed some bits myself and to be honest the most important bit is the prep work. Sanding the parts down well is a must. I did 80 grit, 120, 240, 600, 800 to firstly get rid of the plastic 'bobble' effect and then get them smooth for painting.
Option 3 - Both! lol
Giles, IIRC the ones from subway aren't painted and laquered whereas if you get the ones from ebay you get them primed, painted, laquered and delivered for £140 or best offer - all you have to do is fit them. I think MattsClio (The all black one, blacked windows,colour...
Get the sport mate. 55000km is nothing, and not much more expensive than the 1.4. It may also have some warrenty left on it? Any pics of the 2.0l sport?
Well, got up nice and early! Going out shortly so only had time to have a quick go with the AG and hosepipe. Firstly I ran the engine for a few mins, this aids drying later and also melts any grease and oil to amke easier cleaning. I covered all electrical connections in tin foil, the...
Unpolished Rich, None of it was polished in the poor mans 1.4 :( lol. I didn't expect it would be possible to just polish it up to be honest, is there anything that will make it look a bit better though?
Okely Dokely! What ever you say Rich!!
Is it likely to work to get the oil off or should I get it steam cleaned?
Also Rich, What would be the best metal polish to polish the metal bits i.e. engine! Would this be effective at all or would it need to be wet sanded or done with a dremmel?
I have oil in my engine bay, will take some pics later and get them up tomorrow as I don't think it's too good! What's the best thing to do? A normal bay detail, i.e. Foil wrap electrics, cover battery etc (Any other things to be wary of?) Then run engine for a couple of mins to warm slightly...
