OK, so now thatI've calmed down and read a few more posts on the subject (which I what I should have perhaps done in the first place) I can see that the colour-coloded mirror caps come off easily enough, in which case I'll just get a replacement mirror and mechanism from Renault.
Most peoples...
Some kind, considerate person decided that I no longer have any use for my wing mirrors and broke them off the mounts for me last night.
So, colour coded wing mirrors - obviously you can't a complete colour coded mirror and Renault informed me that the replacement glass and mechanism will...
Most garages, let alone stealerships, will charge £60-70 per hour labour costs, with 1 hour of labour being the miniumum charge. If the £85 quid included VAT, it's not that bad to be honest.
Renault recently wanted to charge me "around" £350 to fit a £180 electric window/motor relay. I ordered...
Monaco blue 172, Woolwich area, SE London, always parked up as I see it every day (just off Church Street??? behind a block of flats) when I travel home on the train of an evening
Looks beautiful and it really brightens up my day.
I have, but it's not that, I think. The matt was dry on top, but it was the carpet underneath that was damp. If it was the sunroof, surely the surface of the matt would have been wet?
Just noticed the carpet in the passenger side footwell was soaking wet when I removed the matt at the weekend. Checked the water bottle level to see if any leaks could have been the cause but the bottle was full.
Could this just be condensation build up? The carpet was dry when I checked it...
Here’s a weird one:
A mark one Clio (no further description available) was once found abandoned at a petrol station in the village of Gislingham in Suffolk. According to reports at the time, upon closer inspection the steering wheel didn’t move and the dashboard instruments were unmovable...
Gutted - I'm mystified as to why people do this. Thing is, if you catch 'em doing it - what are you gonna do? Smashing their face only lands you in the sh*t when they prosecute. The way this country works makes me sick at times. And to think, once upon a time you could be put to death for...
If there's absolutely, positively one thing you can be certain of in this life - pull a Clio apart and it WILL rattle when you put it back together again!

There is a really, really, really old video clip on YouTube of Mike's car when he was running a super charger which you can see here (yes, yes I know it's a repost)...
What - he's selling it?

Long story short
I have 6 cars now (of which 3 are 2 seaters which you obviously need for the family!) - and I just bought a 1200cc BMW bike (a sort of late mid life crisis unless I live to 100!)...
I guess so. What with all the reposessions going on at the moment, anyone standing around with a clipboard and looking official whilst your car is loaded on to a flatbed wouldn't be viewed with suspicion. Hell, most people would standaround and watch.
I was having a chat with a friend a while back concerning car alarms, immobilisers – security stuff in general – and his advice was that if you’re totally paranoid about vehicle theft then they are ways to ensure your car goes nowhere, even if thieves manage to disable the alarm and immobiliser...
If there was a CS award for the best mechanically modified clio (all models), who in your opinion would get the award?
For me I guess it would be MikeTs Vee - which I believe is still on the road despitea recent 'moment' in the wet.
Mechanical mods only so 1.2s with Vee body kits need not...
Call number 1
Me: Hi, can I speak to someone in mechanical repairs please.
Renault Customers Services: Sure, I’ll put you through now.
Renault Parts Dept: Hello, parts!
Me: Er, I was being transferred to mechanical repairs?
Renault Parts Dept: Sorry, you’ll have to call Customers Services; we...
That sounds a bit cheap for Renault, considering they recently quoted me around £350 to replace an electric window relay/motor.
Then again, their sunroof's are so simply there can't be much to replace I spose. But I would imagine that £250 wouldn't fix it for long.
