Re: noicey sunroof
Sponge alone under the handle won't silence it - on the mine the front mounts make quite alot of noise and my solution was to cut a bottle cork into 5 mil sections and squeeze them under the mounts. problem solved.
Indeed - tyre to road surface noise has a lot to do with it. I use a lower profile tyre and on A roads for instance where the surface can change every mile or so, the sound can be deafening one minute and almost silent the next.
Look's sh*t and just the same as all the other 3-doors 08 cars currently available. No originality in the design at all. Bring the old shape back, pleeeease.
Just as well you had it checked. It all sounds like general wear and tear, which is to be expected if the miliage is high. Were you unaware that the cambelt needed changing?
Dito.
I have a mate whose parents bought him a Vauxhaul Viva when he passed his driving test (this was when Renault launched the 1st 16v Clio, so we're talking early 90s I guess). We used to go clubbing on Saturdays and he would do anything to get out of driving, even though we used to take...
I just reply 'Clio' and if they ask what type, answer the question.
There's a TopGear clip where Jimmy Carr asks an audience member what he drives, to which he replied '16-valve Golf'. Carr's reply was 'why do I need to know how many valves it has?', making the bloke feel a total dick as a...
Slightly off-topic so many apologies, it's sort of related and not really worth a thread on it's own.
I recently had a new electric window motor/relay installed at my local garage. After the work was carried out, the windows was making odd noises above 40MPH so I returned and asked if they...
I've been thinking about having two of my wheels refurbished but I'm worried they will then look slightly different to the remaining to. Do refurbed wheels look obvious or is there no telling the difference? I guess it depends on who you use.
So park it normal and you risk getting a ding from the car parked next to you.
Take up two parking spaces and run the risk of getting it keyed for parking like a pig?
Tuff choice to make I guess.
Vee owners - need to learn how to park properly

I have been advised not to spend more than £70 as pressure washers only last a couple of years before they break? I guess it all depends on how much you use them?
I'm thinking about either of these:

Hi folks
Looking to purchase a pressure washer for around £60-£70 and wondered which bar rating to go for? I’ll be hosing the car down where it’s parked on the street outside of my house, so while I need something to shift the dirt, I’d like to avoid dousing anyone else parked in the street...
What response have you received throughout the on-sale period?
It's just my opinion, but I think any potential buyer will be concerned about reliability. Adding a forced induction device like a turbo or super-charger to a standard NA engine is going to raise questions about the reliability of...
Dito the Simga 10-20mm (which on a Canon 1000D will give you the equivalent 35mm focal length of 16mm). You won’t get a better wide lens for around the £320 mark, although this particular lens has gone up in price recently. I bought mine about 6-months ago for £280. It’s not particularly fast...
What a pro - he doesn't just clean his car, but 'agitates' it first.
Nice M3 too, wish I could find an E36 lying around in a garage with only 7K on the clock.

Lovely motor!
Regarding the 400D - when photographing a white object it's always worth taking a custom white balance reading and using that to get a photo with 'true' white as opposed to an off-white that you often get with default camera settings that are designed to suit all light...
