You will miss nothing IMHO - the 172 is quicker in all ways, except the VR6 pulls better lower down - but thats boring anyway - after 5k the 172 screams like a murdered cat!! Brilliant!! :devilish:
personally think 12k is fine - longer service intervals are possible these days as the engine componenets are machined to much tigher tolerances, and as such do not produce as much debris during the running in phase - wich incidentally is the first 1500km or so.
You could change it but it wont...
Yeah, the oz f1s in 16 inch will look good; just bigger than standard but still look the same, only trouble you will have though is the same i had witht he mk2 i had, as that is on 16s the tyre profile is smaller and the wheel far easier to kerb - and you may be back to square 1 tough call...
larger wheels can do a number of things:
rub on the wheel arch
affect the speedo reading and acceleration - if the PCD is not correct
affect handling - they are usually wider, and with this may accelerate wear on Power steering components
could look sh*t
IMHO standard is best - the...
just had 24k service for my mk1 172 and been told that rear spring cracked at rear.
renault want 80 quid for it!!!
Anyone have a mk1 172 set of standards they wanna sell?
Damn the french
I have had both, first the 2 now the 1
The 2 is more stylish inside i suppose but IMHO not as aggresive outside
My 2 rattled like mad, had the 4k rattle etc but the mk1 is rattle free and does not suffer from the annying knocking etc that the MK2s seem to suffer from....anyone agree?
Some interesting, well written post here brothers.
Interesting to read the initial post on the honest comparison. As already mentioned its subjective and people buy cars for all sorts of reasons, personally I love the way the clio looks, I think the CTR looks like bobba fetts spaceship, but...
Personally i wouldnt buy a car from a max power type as is most likely been given death all the time of ownership.
Try and find one that a mature owner has had, with no mods and FSH. Dont be tempted by big wheels and all that other sh*te, it stinks of boy racer.
A performance car is better...
lovely matey
Have one the same, an x reg 23k mintbox
I wouldnt spoil it though mate, keep it standard looking, gold wheels would look sh*t and spoil it imho!!
yeah warranty job m8.
If import then you need to speak with reno customer servs and upgrade warranty to 3 years - they will do this foc, you just need to prove that you bought it after 01, have a copy of the sale receipt ( even a private sale recept will do), proof of reno sevicing history and...
1001 is best in warm water. when stain is out, be sure to wipe rest of seat over so you dont end up with a really clean area.
Heater on engine warm, leave it idling for 15 mins then hey presto.
And i think you mate needs his balls kicking up his back too!
they are reasonably heavy compared to a general car - but not a great deal mate - nothing like a williams
Sounds like you have an issue. The juddering may be a distorted clutch plate or oil spillage onto the friction plates
Id get it checked out
After 310 posts Ive finally joined the cliosport club and am now an official member with a cliosport sticker firmly stuck on my rear screen.
Dunno if its me but it seems to go faster with the sticker in? it pulls harder and corners keener that ever before - Muahahahah
No, seriously it does...
I have seen this before on one i was following ( siver ) - only obvios when the sun catches it just so.
i have noticed mine from a distance looks like that a bit too only in certain lights, but upon close inspection there is fa wrong!!
Think that as is a thin bumper and there is a slight...
if you are flush then do it, it must be better, but if you dont drive like a bat out of hell all the time and track days are not youre bag, then i think that it is a lot of money for the sake of having the latest.
I have a mk1 and really love it and cant justify spending more for not a huge...
Think cars are best left standard, apart from say a nice set of wheels replacing any steelys
the car in the picture is a classic example of someone trying to make a small engined car look like a fire breather. It looks dogsh*t
There are a few around in leigh where im from....ott kit, huge...
