172 clutch

i got my 172 around 2months ago now, at first i couldnt get to grips with th eclutch i just thought o well new car but 2months down the line im only just being able to pull off almmost 100% without juddering and im still not confident on hill starts, it seems the biting point is at the top of the clutch meaning theres not alot of movement left in the pedal, is this normal?? also the clutch seems heavy which i just thought it may as its a more sporty model? if this isnt the case is there anyway to adjust it??

they are reasonably heavy compared to a general car - but not a great deal mate - nothing like a williams

Sounds like you have an issue. The juddering may be a distorted clutch plate or oil spillage onto the friction plates

will any of this be under warrenty?? as theres no way im spending £1k on getting the clutch redone which is what renault were quoting, the juddering was because when i first drove it i was essentially just driving off the clutch and with little to no gas and so when it juddeered it was like it was almost stalling, bloke at renault said it may be a clutch cable?? any truth in that? also anyone know if there are any local renault specialists as i hate renault in reading bunch of fukin cowboys

I had the same problem with mine... well the juddering at least and then the slipping. It turns out a rear oil seal was leaking. Mill lane Renault in Aldershot didnt hesitate changing it under warrenty, and mines an import. Depends on your miles and age of the car I spose.

age is an 02 just gone two years old and it has 33k on it

If import then you need to speak with reno customer servs and upgrade warranty to 3 years - they will do this foc, you just need to prove that you bought it after 01, have a copy of the sale receipt ( even a private sale recept will do), proof of reno sevicing history and i think thats it - do asearch as its been covered b4 m8y
