Sounds definitely like dephaser pulley then - when were the belts done? Sounds like it wasn't done during, or the belts weren't done at all. You could try and knock him down, and get them done at a specialist yourself, that way you know it's A-ok. (assuming the rest of the car was ok).

Uh, what JD has said is fact; it's shortpile and will just drag contaminants around - it's not even hard to understand. The likelyhood is you had hardly any tar to begin with, so there isn't much to drag around. Also, even thinking about it logically - a standard clay bar offers way more...

12.4 to 12.6 ideally. If it's less than 12v, it's likely fucked.

Probably the sunlight as aucky says, been a very warm past few days, and that paint is dark so will attract the heat. It should actually never be done in sunlight, its just that most of us have no choice ^^

Thats a weird one, what happens if you put the old gpu back in? All cables plugged in? Did the GPU need a PCI power and have you got that in?

Yeah that looks like low oil imo - lower than the cams and so they're just using all the gunk at the top, or nothing at all! :(
