How much would a JMS RS2 be worth nowadays? I'm contemplating my future options (uprated cams with RS2, low boost turbo, or new car - R26 or similar maybe)
Seem to remember them being listed up for around £1000 a couple years ago.
I was tempted by this myself when i saw the ad last week, but I only bought my clio 2-3 months ago. So in the end i decided to stick with my clio for a little longer.
I'll probably change my mind a few times, but I think a Megane will be my next car. Hope you enjoy it.
Going to give this a try myself. Though i've bought the vent mounted version that is £5.99. I've also ordered the brodit pro clip as i hate using suction mounts.
Idea is that i'll fix the brodit clip in place and then remove the vent mounting clips on the back of the phone holded and screw in...
Interested in this topic myself. Running a RS2 on my 182, mapped by RS Tuning.
Belts are due in a couple years time, so may go down the route of camshaft with the RS2 setup when they need doing. I thought the 197 cams were considered the best setup with this, and around 195bhp possible, some...
Fitted these yesterday, engine bearly moves now, little bit of give on the gearbox side (as expected really). Definitely stiffened things up quite a lot, and it feels stiffer when driving.
I am pretty surprised that there is next to no added vibration, 40mph in 5th for example is like driving a...
Got home from work last night and the shifter was mega stiff, made it difficult getting into gear by the time i got home. So decided to finally take a quick look at it.
Pulled the gaitor off, and played around with the adjusts. Seems there was plenty more adjustment to loosen it up. Shifts are...
Yep that did the trick. It seems there was some glue holding it together. I didn't want to risk breaking it, by using excessive force before asking. so thanks.
A week is acceptable given the work required. I may go down this route myself next year if i decide i'm happy to keep the clio for a couple more years at least.... I'm still unsure if i want more power and whether turbo is the best route for me. I quite fancy a R26 too.
It baffles me why people...
So I've got the powerflex stuff from KAM racing last week, upper engine mount came on friday too, just waiting on the gearbox mount, which will hopefully be here today.
To fit the engine mount bush, i need to remove the inner part of the mount. I seem to remember these being separate on my last...
Ordered Febi Engine and gearbox mounts of eBay last night, total cost of £37. Then ordered the Powerflex dogbone and top mount inserts.
I figured if there is too much vibration, I can always remove the top mount bush.
Read something on how to setup the mounts to reduce vibration (or correctly...
I need to start thinking about replacing the mounts on my 182. I only bought the car last month, so i don't know how old the mounts are, but there is more movement than i'd like and the engine mount looks fairly worn.
Now the car's got a RS2 installed, but has had the bonnet catch modified to...
Yep, I purposely ordered new spacers when i bought the disc and pads to replace them. I was 100% happy I'd put it all back together correctly, but this is making me question myself now.
I changed the rear disc a couple of times on my old 182, so i've done the change 3 times now.
The...
So i changed the rear disc a couple weeks ago on my 182 with genuine disc and pads from Renault, also ordered new spacers and nuts from George. Everything has been fine and i've probably done 6-700 miles on them.
Last night i nipped out for a drive to test out my new tyres, and as i was heading...
Well tyres were delivered yesterday, so went and got them fitted this morning.
Torrential rain conditions, so not ideal. But grip levels were definitely better than the T1R's that got pulled off, So I'm happy with them so far. However I only really tested straight line acceleration and braking...
I've not done anything with it to be honest, the previous owner fitted it and said it was on the lowest stiffness setting.
Guess if it's not normal, which I didn't think it would be, I'll have to investigate.
Thanks
The 182 i bought last month, has one of these installed.
I believe it is the 3.0 version.
First thing in the morning when it's cold it feels great. However after a half hour drive to work it gradually gets stiffer and stiffer. Basically it's so stiff that i can push the gear stick over when in...
I found plenty of positive reviews and a few reviews similar to yours to be fair. But this seems to be the case with pretty much every tyre available. I don't tend to be too silly in the wet normally anyway. But if I think they're dangerous I'll be switching them for something more road...
Well i've decided to give them a try, ordered a full set of 4 in 205/45 ZR16 in 180 compound and XL sidewalls, for £280 delivered.
Not a massive saving over the PS3 which i managed to find for £380 including fitting, so once the NS-2R are fitted maybe £60 in it. But I wanted to give these a try...
My brother has decided to sell his MX-5 for some reason, I think he's making a mistake personnally, but if anyone is interested it's up on eBay.

Not the best ad in the world, but it's a nice genuine...
Did you find you had to drive any differently in the wet compared to a decent branded road tyre?
Yeah, but these are roughly £100 more for a set of 4 tyres. I have considered getting a set, but money is a little tight at the minute and I probably shouldn't even be thinking about getting tyres...
Currently I've got T1R's on the car, and i'm not impressed with them, they were on the car when i bought it about 3-4 weeks ago.
I'd like to spend around £75 per tyre ideally, so i've been eyeing the Nankang NS-2R up and looking through threads and reviews etc for a couple of days.
Dry grip is...
I posted this is the wrong section the other day and haven't got a reply yet. So will try again here.
Basically, i've had the 182 for about 3 - 4 weeks now, but over the last couple of weeks at least it's not been running right.
I've had spluttering like the car isn't getting enough fuel had...
Only had the car for about 3 weeks now. But seem to have a problem with it splutting and cutting out that seems to be getting worse.
Initially, i noticed it spluttering slightly when pulling away or speeding up, then returning to normal, this only lasted a second or two, and only happened a...
