i wouldnt tackle it yourself really
it is just 4 bolts or so, but it will all need altering and alligning properly.
knowing what to move, where to move it and how far, it aint just a case of unbolting and bolting on
plus you may have problems with the actual hinges if its bent the bodywork...
as leigh says, if the surface is good to paint onto, it just needs
-going over with a grey scotchbrite and some panel wipe (10 minute job),
-blow it off, clean it up (5 minutes)
-mask up tailgate, roof, strip between the door n quarter, windows, bonnet and bumper. then bag the car up...
yea but if you paint to the wing its just gonna be a solid edge as you gotta paint right to the end of the door, then youre just hoping it matches next time. If you prep the wing too, blow basecoat accross the side (not on the top) and then laquer the whole wing, itll still be the same colour to...
probably best painting the wing too mate and do the whole side.
you'll notice colour match alot less bonnet to wing compared to wing to door as its different angles.
id say £200-£250
wednesbury, west midlands
i have pretty high standards yup, couple of my workmates dont.
if im honest, ill look at a car and judge how good the repairs gotta be. if im working on a rusty transit van ill have it knocked off in no time, if im working on an evo or beemer, then ill take as long as...
dunno if its the same for the mk 2 but on the mk 1, you drop the sunroof out, dry it all completely, put a bead of sealant around the window gasket and drop it back in, tightening it evenly from corner to corner side to side
does the door look low?
does the door lift up when you close it onto the catch?
i dunno if theres any adjustment on the clio hinges.
personally id open the door, and lift the corner from the bottom and give it a couple of bounces, see if that takes it back.
failing that, drop the catch...
i think its partially metamerism, how the paint looks under different lights, i think the plastic affects how it looks.
the paint lands differently and cures differently on plastic
all clio mk2 clio front ends look a different colour due to the plastic front wings, the paint has a different shade due to how the paint appears on plastic to metal.
if you look at cars in your street quite a few of the bumpers will be out to the actual car too.
nothing to worry about
p1200 you may see fine marks if you dont use a block or if you have something rounded and press with your fingertips.
if theres nothing wrong with the basecoat then theres no need at all to wetflat it for laquer
