MAC User look here and help me please.

I assume iDvd uses the quicktime components for import. MPEG2 is covered by all sorts of licensing so isn't bundled with the OS, it's an add on which is £20 or so. If you don't feel like paying for it, then some other open source solution (like something mentioned above) will probably allow...

Mine was this, the nokia nk502. The phone from the matrix (way before the matrix came out though).

    uninstalling software on a MAC?!

Only preferences in ~/Library, which doesn't matter. If you're really bothered you can just go in there and drag those to the trash as well.

    uninstalling software on a MAC?!

Double Yes. OS X isn't crap like windows.

    twin screens!

Don't you just create a new image which is the size of the entire desktop and paste in both of the images you want into that?

    iPod to iMac

You can't, at least not without third party software. Just search on google and you'll find software.

    apple mac with windows

Boot camp is no longer available stand alone, it was only available as a beta prior to release of Leopard as it's actually a leopard feature.

    Ubuntu 7.10

:) Actually, the coolest device driver I ever wrote was for the Nios processor (ucLinux because of a lack of a MMU), this is soft-core IP that runs on an FPGA, so you basically sit there in the "builder software" and select what features and peripherals you want your processor to have, few...

    iphone

Then again, it wasn't 4 foot thick with fans the size of a windfarm on it either. ;) Swings and roundabouts, you make it thinner then you have to accept that there is less thermal mass to help cool it.

    Ubuntu 7.10

I jest.... To be honest, even officially supported drivers can be very hit and miss. A couple of years ago a project I was working on used a PCI RS485 card and I found all sorts of problems with the official linux drivers, to the point where the product was completely unusable - which is odd...

    How much for a dongle?

If it's a crap dongle that might be true, most dongles these days are considerably more complex than an "eeprom".

    How much for a dongle?

I write a piece of software that is protected by a dongle (I also wrote the dongle code too). The dongle is the software license, therefore if you want another one you have to buy another copy of the software. We offer discount on more than one license, but obviously other software vendors...

The words "dream on" spring to mind. Won't happen, iPhone price is fixed by apple, short and simple - apple are in charge of the sales here.

need help on getting around on my first mac...

    1) Select program, Apple+Backspace to send to trash. Job done. 2) Don't think you can. Try google. 3) Not sure, not in front of a mac at the moment. Safari has a pr0n browsing mode anyway. From the safari mode select "Private Browsing", won't store anything from that point on until you...

Finally got a mac, now i need help getting online..

This particular modem was crap under windows too, just like the thomson/alcatel support. You couldn't install updated drivers unless you had the cd to "verify" you had the modem, which put you s**t out of luck if you'd lost it and wanted to download new ones! Barring "bizarre" devices...

    Vista 64bit OEM

You have to buy another copy. The OEM license is tied to the hardware it was "sold" with. Edit: And unless you have a really good reason for installing 64 I wouldn't bother. I've found all sorts of gui issues with 32 bit applications running under it that don't exist on the 32 bit version of...

How many of you have ordered Leopard?

It's more a precuation and given your past history with hard drives and such like it's probably recommended if you've got an external drive!

How many of you have ordered Leopard?

Yeah, although I think that's because you are used to how it looked in tiger, you get used to it.

    itunes Newbie Help

You used to be able to get around the US thing by purchasing american itunes gift cards, that way you don't need an american credit card. I assume you can still do this.

How many of you have ordered Leopard?

Yah, although I believe there is an exception for members of the family if they are away at college/university. Btw, you also only get one disk.

How many of you have ordered Leopard?

That's standard for OS X, every single major release so far has been quicker than the previous.

How many of you have ordered Leopard?

I assume that was the family pack? If so, you may as well just downloaded it from the net as it's not legal, he can't resell you a copy!
