if the previous owner chopped the old connectors off youll need a lead which has an ISO block on one end and loose wires on the other, then its a case of useing bullet connectors (or something similar) to join the wires in the car to the ISO cable. other than that just the cage and an arial...
there should be another block connector, one for all the power, remote live etc, (Ill get a pic when i can) and that one it the pic for the speakers. Arial adapter usually get in the box with new stereos, cradle should be able to get from halfords, about £6 i think!
tweeters in dash are daisy chained off front speakers, so effectivly you only have four sets of wires to worry about. To get old radio out you could always chop up an old (metal!) coathanger, into 4 pieces push into holes to release catches and pull out. youll need a plug from halfords that has...
did anybody go? was it any good? I thought i was going but ended up at the VW show in chester for some reason. Was just a load of old rusty beetles parked in a field, load of crap!
yeah my local mechanic, when servicing my car cut this wire and taped it back because the tyre was wearing it away. he said it was the brake bad wear sensor too
IMHO it dosent make a great deal of difference, but i dont know, im no expert, but i had a similar set up in my micra with all uprated wiring and i dont think it made any improvement to sound, personally i filter all the bass out of the front speakers, i leave that job to the subs. I have seen...
it aint necerssary to use bullet conectors, just anything which will give a good conection without any exposed copper wire or mettalic part connected to that wire, then you should be fine!
yeah thats right, snip those wires (label them up for future reference) and extend the wires through the car to the amp. with mine ive just set the high pass filter on the amp, sounds fine!
i think the tweeter is just daisy chained of the door speaker, in my rt i snipped each wire with music playing, and tweeter + door speaker go off at same time. Ive wired up some sony tweeters in the dash off the factory wiring all works fine and dandy!
i think it would be best if you made sure the wiring was suited to your amp, dont wanna start any fires! even if it could take it its pushing its capabilities to the max all the time, get a larger cable which can handle the job, no sweat.
aaronc, look here: I thought they were mingin too but my mates insisted on a picture with them!
