LOL.
I lost it at the Craner Curves at Donington and you're right, you react first and deal with it... Then laugh about it afterwards (or cry if it went badly wrong!).
Great video Tony... What happened with the Integra and Scooby, did they miss gears? Both seemed to die suddenly then hang on in your mirrors. That's a fast corner to lose it to be fair, I think if you hadn't have spun you'd have stayed in front as you seemed the most consistent of the group.
Sorry to those I didn't speak to, and the fact I didn't say I was going... Well, I didn't know I was going until Dave text me 45mins before I turned up...
IIRC the ABP springs are by Eibach, but I could be wrong. I had Eibach Sportlines on mine and the ride wasn't bad at all considering it was roughly 40mm lower. As said the ride is less crashy than standard.
It's a strange part of the circuit to have a fatal crash, I'm sure most people assumed it happened on the Old Hairpin or Craner Curves. I hope it doesn't have a detrimental affect on the racing or the drivers.
I'd taken a picture of his car prior to the race... There was an eerie atmosphere as we all waited in line to leave, looking on as the Air Ambulances arrived. As curious as I am I'm kinda glad I didn't witness the accident.
Overshadowed by the tragic loss of Christian Devereux, the annual classic car racing event was predictably fantastic. It's a mecca for anyone who appreciates proper cars, with immaculate examples both on and off the track.
Armed with only my iPhone I made a short video and took plenty of...
It was the historic racing weekend, pre 70's saloon cars or something like that... Minis and Cortinas versus muscle cars etc. A Mustang and Mini collided on the double apex right hander before the old Dunlop bridge. The Mini driver, Christian Devereux was announced fatally injured by the time...
Had a day out with friends in sunny Southport and saw a Storm Grey 200 in town about lunch time, then a black 182 on the way back down the M6 registration FFH I think!
No not yet, but it does have plenty of trick bits!
He had the edge on the straight, and mine seemed to have the grip/handling. It was difficult to compare properly because we spent more time trying to get sideways than we did clocking fast laps lol.
First proper trackday in the MX-5 today at Bedford, along with Warren (Brown Bear/Force India) in his MR2. Easily the most fun trackday I've done, with several spins and lots of drifting... Couldn't believe neither of us got black flagged (this time!).
On track with Warren today, very surprised how well it went! Plenty of sideways action from us both, including Warren spinning backwards into the grass at high speed lol.
