This place Im on about is good but probably as good as any other. Not worth you travelling that far. Theyd need to keep the car a few days too. I got two panels sprayed for £160, top job, considering how old my car was. He reckoned Id be looking at £350-400 ish for complete respray.
Thats really pathetic of her that mate, gutted for you. You want to do the same back to her car (or when she gets one). SOme might say dont stoop to her level but you have to some time, its the only language some people understand.
Id stick a potato right up her exhaust!
Where are you based...
15s looked ok on mine i thought, lowered about 40mm front and 60 rear.
Out of those two I like the Octanes best.http://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1072824158__20thJuly2003016.jpg
Mine by the way were a cheap make called Adikt, cant remember the exact design name though.
Get a silicone gun out and seal the sunroof completely (from the outside) like I did. If that doesnt stop it, take central locking receiver apart and you should see the aerial mount. Seal that with silocone too.
Seal it all off, sunroofs, ha! Who needs them?!
I would have thought so, but the 16v has wider rear arches and the tailgate may need to match the lines around the rear corner of the car. May not match up with RT boot. Someone else will tell ye properly...
Mk1 ph1s were from H reg to late L reg making it Aug90 to about July94. I have seen some ph2 L regs, so I would suggest ph2 was Julyish 94 to about Octoberish 96 (i have seen a couple of ph2 P reg Clios but most P regs are ph3.
Cheers for that Ill give it a go. It didnt do it today at all. Thats the annoying thing, if it did it all the time fair enough take it into a garage and theyll fix it but its doing it when it feels like annoying me. Gobnna grease em up tomorrow regardless whether its doing it or not. Thanks again.
Well when you put it like that..
No, they seem ok when braking hard, just got me baffled. Ive just done a round trip of 25 miles to drop my lass off at her Christmas party, never squealed once, yet 2 hours earlier doing it all the time. Got to pick her up at midnight.. I reckon its got...
Rattles, squeaks, I hate em, never seem to want to do it when you take it to a garage...
Thanks for the reply.... Id replace the discs and pads but Im skint, plus I need a new TV....
Cheers.
I posted this on the Saxo group a while back and, as ever, got very little help. Possibly because I didnt type it in text message style typing.
A few weeks ago I whacked the passenger front wheel on a kerb (wheel hit kerb at about 45 degree angle). Off and on theres been a squealing noise...
Sounds ok, but definetly look for one with lower mileage. I got my old RT at 51k and sold it at 108k, had loads of problems between 80k and 100k. Check the history and see what its had done.
Definetly wheel bearings. Mine used to hum and noise went away when cornering, came striaght back when I straightened up. Took it to Halfords £80 per side I think. Toruble is it kept reoccuring. 10k miles later and it was doing it again. Went through 2 sets of Halfords bearings, then took it to...
No! May sound crazy but my mams old RL used to slosh. It was water in the car shell underneath the drivers side rear passenger window. If you jack up the car and look under that part youll see a ridge running down length of car. Look closer and it intervals you can see a wee slot parrallel to...
Absolutely yes! They still look wicked and put a lot of bigger engined hot hatches to shame. To me no other hatchback looks as good.
Only reason I bought a VTS was for reliablity being a newer car ( x reg ) , oh for hindsight! Ive had trouble with the Saxo.
Ill still buy a 16v as second car...
I know you were mainly concerned with the juddering. Im talking mainly about the clunking, caused by exhuast when turning right.
By the way mine juddered a bit now that I think on (doh!) I replaced the drive shafts on both sides at a cost of £160 in total. Made no difference. Replaced gear box...
I must be talking in a foreign language. This was discussed yonks ago on here. Can anyone actually hear me? Hello? hello..(echo)
(see my reply higher up)
ClioChris is def right with the exhaust. Get it up on a ramp and look under. The exhaust bangs against the gearbox mount. It drove me mad for ages. Easily fixed by bending pipe or cutting a wee bit off edge of gear box mount. Common problem. Only when you turn right, rumbling, all the symptons...
And by the way, yes the heat comes from the engine which is why you have to wait for the engine to get hot before you feel any heat.
The matrix is like a smaller version of the radiator. When you want heat you switch it to hot. Hot coolant flows into it and the fan blows the hot air it creates...
As an alternative to the matrix, if ye desperately need heat to clear fogged windows, you can buy off ebay a little heater that plugs into your cigar lighter. Its sort of like a hair dryer for the dash.
If its coz youre cold, wear a thicker coat and gloves...
