Re: My mk1 track car blog
roffle! no totally universal, just ordered the one to see what the quality was like and i'm impressed. it's nothing mega special, i just couldnt find anything the same from the uk (unless i'm being dumb and they have a uk stockist :o)
if its the same thing the mk1's suffer from starvation under hard cornering (normally the cup racers when running slicks)
people have looked into using tank foam or similar but not sure if anyone has cured it yet
Re: My mk1 track car blog
ooh a nice piece of kit landed on my desk from america yesterday, so impressed with the build quality i'm going to order some more! :D
will take some pics when i have installed it
also spoke to curtis at powerstation about the AST top mounts, all sounds promising...
they do run off the same relay, iirc its the taller black one of them all
have you checked voltage coming out of the hazard switch? tried a new hazard switch? as it runs through there before getting to the relay
to be honest mate once you lay the loom out and route it in the engine bay its pretty clear where each connector goes as most of them will only fit (and reach) into one sensor
oh and on davebem's pic, the four black connectors are for the injectors, if you didnt know :)
Re: My mk1 track car blog

if it is just the rubber gaitor thats come loose that's harsh to fail it
from what my mot tester told me they can spend a certain amount of time during the mot to rectify any small problems (not long mind)
my 106 was going to fail on o/s brake flexi kinking on full lock, so whilst he was...

this guy speaks sense!
although thats me speaking from experience of my project, which has gone on far too long and cost me far too much money!
yes it is very itchy!
it will need re-doing as the wrap deteriorates over time (think mine has lasted well over a year though!)
have you looked into ceramic coating? more expensive than wrapping but much better results
do you find you can see pretty much sack all out of the passenger wing mirror?
i think my mirrors are slightly smaller than yours, but when its angled so i can see out of it, half the mirror is covered by the door window frame lol
