yeh, hpi hardly ever gets updated with the number when a new engine goes in, so if its different to that someones been fiddling under your bonnet :dapprove:
ah right didn't realise 225 engine could be bought for that cheap!
i agree entirely on the basis that it's different, exactly why these things should be done, not for financial gain or to be practical, but just because you CAN
i can't help with the technical info, sorry
but when you say you don't want to pay 3k for the RS engine an then box, how much are you looking at for a meggy 225 engine and box?
having a clio cup shell and putting standard engine and running gear (albeit from meggy 225) seems a backward step...

can people in the trade give me some answers (i'm getting varied answers whoever i ask!)
on the renault workshop manual it gives 2 methods for tensioning in the cambelt

doesnt sound too good, and it isnt anything to do with cold start map if its doing it whilst you are driving
my old mk1 used to do this, randomly would start misfiring, and i knew that if i came to a junction it would stall, so i used to use the handbrake and keep my right foot on the...

makes me laugh when they read the diagnostic as gospel, as if because it doesnt show on the diagnostic, it therefore doesnt have a problem :S :nono:
are you fairly handy with the spanners? or would you rather it go to a garage?
i could always take a look for you if you like? seeing as i am...
which garage you take it to?
i 'think' its the cts sensor (coolant temp sensor) that signals the ecu to run the cold start map? someone confirm that for me?
when did it last have a service?
if i was you i would replace spark plugs first then go from there, sounds like a misfire, but not sure on the loud tinny sound :S
