Yeah I’d want to see more detailed images of underneath, engine bay, service history etc. the mileage is appealing but if you drive it, you’re just going to devalue it. I’d strip it right back, fully restore it, then put it away somewhere. Some of these cars are rotten now.
Hmmm interesting about the sensors as my local dealer said they couldn't supply any more - a few months ago now.
Reading between the lines the OP isn't too bothered about modifying so should be ok.
I never struggled to keep the race car going to be fair.
Off the top of my head you can't get the following genuine parts and as you say many 3rd party makers no longer do them:
Arch-liners
182 Cup Springs - front and rear
Xenon headlamp levelling sensor - sits on the rear subframe
OSF Wishbone
NSR ABS Sensor - although i think the aftermarket...
I can testify to this as I've almost finished my 182 RB restoration - have a read if you've got a few spare hours. https://cliosport.net/threads/restoring-little-bluey-my-182-ff-cliosport-in-racing-blue.840322/page-5#post-12380859
Sold my other 2 182's last year, partly because I couldn't get...
It's around a grand for PPF and it's not worth it. I can get a bonnet and bumper painted for £300 if necessary.
It's only an 18-year-old Clio at the end of the day.
Looking forward to finally getting the paint up to scratch tomorrow.
For what needs doing, a lot of people probably wouldn’t bother but after putting all the work in the underbody and engine, it seems mad not to get the exterior sorted. Plus the paintwork lacks a bit of lustre.
Jobs to be...
Pushing the clutch in suggests it might be related to the Clutch release bearing. Has it had any work on the box recently? It's rare but the thrust sleeve that guides the bearing can come loose.
I've never blown any of the residual water out of mine and I've done it over 10 times easily 😲 Maybe i should of, but never had an issue.
I Just followed the manual.
I sort of like it although not £6,000 worth of like it. Great colour for a Track Car i think.
What standard 182's are selling for £6,000 with 71k on the clock that aren't Racing Blue, Petrol Blue, Inferno Orange or Liquid Yellow?
The cold dry sunny weather meant an opportunity to get the RB out and blast the cobwebs off.
I haven’t driven a Clio 182 since I sold my BG in November, but the one thing that immediately struck me was the height of the drivers seat 😳 I soon got used to it again.
She’s going in next week for...
I’ve been chasing some of these for nearly a year now. People either bin them or they’re torn to shreds. I’m going to have to do as Richard suggested above and make some.
Stick a couple of dehumidifiers in there as well. You’ll be amazed how much moisture they collect. You can pick up a pack of 5 for under a tenner on Amazon. Well worth it.
I have all 3 versions and can't see the benefit of the 4K Max over the 4K version, to be honest. I bought it during the Amazon Black Friday event, so the cost difference wasn't massive.
Who do you use for wheel refurb, Jon? I've known the guys at Romax for nigh on 40 years, so get mine done there. His sons took over now and the last set he did were average at best.
So after being quoted £34 for M125 broadband, and realising I had absolutely no other alternative if I wanted fibre, I called them back 3 days later.
I ended up in Calcutta again only this time they wanted £44 for M125. No amount of threatening to leave was going to change it, so I politely...
There was a German lad with a 182 when we were there. Lived in the next village and used to go around daily on his way home from work.
Reckons he was sub 8 minutes. Obviously, we didn't believe him as we were struggling to get under 9 minutes in ours :ROFLMAO:
Proper stripped-out machine...
