Quick Question - My 182 has just had some panels painted and been machined polished. How long should I leave it before I send it in for exterior detailing?
This one's lower mileage and in a better colour but it doesn't look anywhere near as nice as that 62k one. And the price differential 😲 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202209029355322
If you're not in a rush something will come along, but it always seems the one you're dead set on...
Yeah. Throw in the saggy drivers seat, aftermarket stereo, coolant that looks like water. Strong money imho. Just looks like it‘s been sprayed with that horrible valeters shite that smells like bubble-gum. Someone will buy it though I’m sure.
Again, looks lovely, but it’s all body and interior. You’ve shown pics of yours underneath so many times on here. I bet if/when you come to sell it you’ll include those pictures.
Because if a seller hasn’t even been underneath it, then you can almost guarantee that car will need work. And as...
The 172 is very well presented but I don’t see pictures or can’t read anything about any restoration work or the condition underneath. Now it could be that it’s been stored in space and it doesn’t need any work, so in that case I’d shout about it. These are 20 year old cars.
Have a look at one...
That’s with the tank in. I always add the brackets first, lift the beam into place, then insert the bolts and bush. I think 🤔😂 Only done 4 of them but you’ve got me thinking now 😂
And the good news is I’m only paying for the little red circles 😉 I’ve had people pawing over the car and they never noticed them. 99% of people wouldn’t have bothered. But they’re not me. Even the lad I bought it off said “paintwork, what paintwork” 😂
Understood but I’m already way too deep in the thing already. You have to be realistic and I’m known to be impulsive, so this time next week it could be gone 😂
Cheers Nick. I’m fortunate in that the lad who’s working on it restores classic cars and also maintains the Bosses collection for him. I’d be nervous sending it to anybody else tbh. Perks of the job I guess.
I've seen these in cars before and they usually attach to a shorter harness that splits off into different connectors. Usually to power up stereos and the like. But as above I haven't come across one in the Clio's (182's) that I've owned and I've had wiring completely stripped out. It's a guess...
Paint prep is coming along nicely.
The techie noticed some peeling when he lifted the rubbers on the passenger door, so he thinks it's been painted before. So we'll get that done while we're at it.
A few people have suggested protecting the front end with PPF after the work has been done, but...
Be interesting to see how those Gredge perform. Any reason you went with the Soft compound over the medium? I guess it's still very cold so they'll probably suit the current conditions.
I’m on Pro-kit now, having tried Cooksport and Grams. Like you I found the latter a bit too crashy over OEM for daily commute. I had Sportline on my previous car and they were great, but can’t comment for a Clio. I find Pro-Kit the closest to OEM in terms of ride, handling and not upsetting...
Yes, this is exactly what happened to his.
He noticed smoke coming from the rear tyre when cornering, so pulled over, then noticed the spring had forced its way through it. You've managed to sort yours by the looks of things, he just gave up on his. Sadly, you can no longer glance underneath...
😂 Oh hello you.
Probably not the right description but that box section above the spring. This is mine. His is on the FB group somewhere. 2020 around October.
Love it!
A mate took his BG to Croft Circuit. He’d spent endless hours polishing it and it looked stunning. A few laps in the back end had collapsed. The rear spring had gone through the chassis leg 🙈
He knew it was a little bit crusty in places but had no idea it was rotten. Sadly there are a...
