    172 Cup OEM+

The one odd caliper wasn't doing it for me. Stripped Repainted And with all that, I'm pleased to say the knocking has gone! Cheap caliper was at fault all along. It's driving so good now. Really pleased with where it is currently. To do list: Oil & Filter Plugs Gearbox oil Front...

    Chris's 172 Cup Turbo

Great updates. I'm looking for a new exhaust as I find the KTEC Resonated stealth a bit droney. Love the mic drop of the K swap.

    172 Cup OEM+

Took it for a slightly longer drive today, rather than up and down my street. Bilsteins have really impressed me. Smoothed out the crashy ride. It's firm but not overly. Considering the fitment is how they came out the box (measured to check the fronts and rear were equal to each corner)...

I'd only have gone back to page 2 myself to remind myself what was used and there's more images there which you might find useful too. 👍

    172 Cup OEM+

Fitted a caliper I bought of @SKINTasPER earlier in the week. They ideally need a rebuild but I needed to see if I could solved the knock from the rear passenger caliper that's been haunting me for weeks now. Yes it's red and will be getting painted. Buttoned everything up and off we went...

    172 Cup OEM+

Ordered it from ECP from memory. Does anyone know the part number for a rear caliper for a 172 Cup? Other news I fitted the front coilovers, realised before I fit them I needed the thin 17mm nut and spacer from the original suspension. I noticed through searching on CS.net, I'd fitted the...

    172 Cup OEM+

Bought two genuine rear calipers off @SKINTasPER once they're here will get them built up. In the mean time I made a start on getting the coilovers fitted. Front shock and a crusty cooksport spring. Fresh Bilstein I'll be fitting stock top mounts as I plan to keep this as a road car and...

    172 Cup OEM+

And the "Genuine OEM rebuilt caliper" turned out to be a cheap knock off from China, so back that goes. Where can I get a (decent) genuine caliper?

Thanks for the speedy reply Gents, who says forums are dead?! Love CS.net because of stuff like this. I did search on here before asking, but couldn't find anything. Will fit as per @MrBlonde suggestion. Don't say that...

    172 Cup OEM+

In other news and prior to the knock ever being a thing, I ordered some coilovers. Thought I'd crack on fitting this this evening starting with the rear as the wheels are off and.... first hurdle. What order does the rear top mount go on? This is what I thought: But the kit came with...

    172 Cup OEM+

Surprisingly difficult to find a decent OEM caliper but I have ordered a rebuilt one. I did take off the caliper and refit to make sure it's not user error on my part but it does seem the sliders have minor lateral play. I say minor but this video does make it look bad, which it is. Lesson...

Yeah there is. It's a repo from ECP from memory. I'm so f**king happy I've found it. This is 100% the cause of the knock (hopefully).

    172 Cup OEM+

I secured the bias valve up with cable ties and it did sweet FA. Spurred in my the advice above from all especially @Brigsy I started snooping at the rear calipers. Now, I have check these and the bolts were tight. However: This is a reproduction caliper as the original was leaking...

172 Cup brake bias - rear brakes compensator fault? Not the MOT issue!!

As this seems to be the 'most recently active' compensator thread. I seem to have a knock coming from mine when lightly pressing the brake pedal when approaching a junction etc. How to I solve this as it sounds terrible from inside the cabin. Although not ideal, I guess cable tying it up...

    172 Cup OEM+

Noise was there and I assumed bearings so I replaced the discs and bearings. It's still there. Pads look to be secured and giving the a tap (hand brake off) they're snug. I'm positive it's the bias valve.

    172 Cup OEM+

I need a way to stop the knocking on part braking. It sounds awful from inside the car.
