My cambelt was the first thing I did, booked it in the day I picked up my car.... Of all the things you could choose to try your luck with, don't make it this one.
The cambelt is something that's easy to forget, you can't see it, you can't hear it and you don't appreciate it.
The interior of the clio is full of gaps, holes and loose bits so hiding wiring is easy.
I would definitely say amping your front door speakers is worthwhile though. I also wouldn't say that the JBL sub is a big enough step up from the Vibe to bother with..... I'd buy a JL audio. JL amps also...
If they're not there, then it's definitely had a front end respray at some point. HPI it and then ask the owner about it, it's perfectly feasable that they dont know themselves.
The gap on mine is 2.2mm
I think it's just the inconsistent French build quailty, I wouldn't assume it's crash damaged. HPI it anyway though, as with any car.
This seems to be what everyone that has them says.... and tbh, It's the same with anything on a Clio, there's plenty of things that aren't necessary that people do, and love.
It really all depends on how serious you're going to get about your Clio tbh. I'm going to get them because it's being supercharged and I'm planning to keep it as a long term track car, so it's worthwhile for me.
You won't be able to go a lot lower than 40mm on springs without seriously compromising your ride comfort mate.....
I';d definitely go for the cheap coilover option..... rokkor / raceland etc etc.... they can be had on ebay for very little money.
It's Ferodo ;)
I've got Mintex disks (just cos they're pretty) and Ferodo DS2500 pads, I'll be adding braided hoses and ATE super blue fluid when it comes to service time. This is said to make a huge difference and is probably more than adequate for most people.
BUT, most of those who have...
I've got yet another delay on getting my Ultraleggeras (my fault for not answering my phone) but they're not going to arrive til Tuesday/Wednesday now....
My predicament is, that the guy who's buying my turinis is picking them up on Friday, and I don't want to let him down again.
So, is...
Camskill are brilliant, my last order came next day too.
Black circles are also very good, they'll deliver and fit them at a local garage of your choice for no extra charge too.
Rear doesn't ruin the soundstage at all.... as long as they're just for a fill.
As said though, you should definitely replace the tweeters, it's a very very easy job and will make the world of difference.
so firstly, welcome!
It's a phase 2, not phase 3 :)
I'd say that was a bit much (you can get an RS clio for little more than that....) but I'm not sure tbh.... have a shop around on pistonheads etc, look for similar cars and prices.
With regards to modding, colour coding is a good first...
Does anyone have any suggestions for a geo set up for a cup?
It will be used for fast road and track, my main aim is to dial out some of the understeer (although the rear ARB will aid this a lot)
I'm happy to go take suggestions on places that I could go locally to me that has a geo rig? If...
