Am I the only one ?

My cambelt was the first thing I did, booked it in the day I picked up my car.... Of all the things you could choose to try your luck with, don't make it this one. The cambelt is something that's easy to forget, you can't see it, you can't hear it and you don't appreciate it.

    New Sub and setup

The interior of the clio is full of gaps, holes and loose bits so hiding wiring is easy. I would definitely say amping your front door speakers is worthwhile though. I also wouldn't say that the JBL sub is a big enough step up from the Vibe to bother with..... I'd buy a JL audio. JL amps also...

clio 172 gaps between wing and doors

If they're not there, then it's definitely had a front end respray at some point. HPI it and then ask the owner about it, it's perfectly feasable that they dont know themselves.

    172 engine.

fixing it and sell it as a whole is the only way you'll make enough money to mkae it worthwhile IMO

    Ap coilovers any good?

Bilstein B14's are the best compromise between quality / cost from what I've read on here.

clio 172 gaps between wing and doors

Have a look for the black bits in the bumper, that will tell you if the bumper has been resprayed or not.

clio 172 gaps between wing and doors

The gap on mine is 2.2mm I think it's just the inconsistent French build quailty, I wouldn't assume it's crash damaged. HPI it anyway though, as with any car.

    4 Pots

This seems to be what everyone that has them says.... and tbh, It's the same with anything on a Clio, there's plenty of things that aren't necessary that people do, and love.

    4 Pots

It really all depends on how serious you're going to get about your Clio tbh. I'm going to get them because it's being supercharged and I'm planning to keep it as a long term track car, so it's worthwhile for me.

    Springs

You won't be able to go a lot lower than 40mm on springs without seriously compromising your ride comfort mate..... I';d definitely go for the cheap coilover option..... rokkor / raceland etc etc.... they can be had on ebay for very little money.

Anyone got any wheels I could borrow for 3 days?

I'm all sorted now mate, but thanks very much all the same.

It's Ferodo ;) I've got Mintex disks (just cos they're pretty) and Ferodo DS2500 pads, I'll be adding braided hoses and ATE super blue fluid when it comes to service time. This is said to make a huge difference and is probably more than adequate for most people. BUT, most of those who have...

Anyone got any wheels I could borrow for 3 days?

I've got yet another delay on getting my Ultraleggeras (my fault for not answering my phone) but they're not going to arrive til Tuesday/Wednesday now.... My predicament is, that the guy who's buying my turinis is picking them up on Friday, and I don't want to let him down again. So, is...

New Exhaust Time... Scorpion RS192 or Miltek... (182)

Plus they have pretty much the best build quality of any exhaust available for the clio and sound incredible.

    Tyres and a Staggering quote

Camskill are brilliant, my last order came next day too. Black circles are also very good, they'll deliver and fit them at a local garage of your choice for no extra charge too.

    A little audio help

I've always found that Alpine make the best 'budget' headunits, Pioneer stuff is very good, but only if you spend money..... all IMO of course.

Engine Tapping noise when stationary, ideas?

Don't use poverty spec oil in a decent engine.....

    A little audio help

Rear doesn't ruin the soundstage at all.... as long as they're just for a fill. As said though, you should definitely replace the tweeters, it's a very very easy job and will make the world of difference.

New Member - Thinking of buying a Clio 1.2 16v

so firstly, welcome! It's a phase 2, not phase 3 :) I'd say that was a bit much (you can get an RS clio for little more than that....) but I'm not sure tbh.... have a shop around on pistonheads etc, look for similar cars and prices. With regards to modding, colour coding is a good first...

    A little audio help

Components front definitely.... Co-axials are sufficient for the rear. What's your budget?

    Would i be mad to sell my Ph1 172 and buy a Ph2 172?

but he wasn't asking a question. lol. I think the idea of people suggesting to search is that they read it, not necessarily post again.

Geometry setup for a 172 cup.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a geo set up for a cup? It will be used for fast road and track, my main aim is to dial out some of the understeer (although the rear ARB will aid this a lot) I'm happy to go take suggestions on places that I could go locally to me that has a geo rig? If...

    Another one bites the dust....

This is exactly why I wouldn't buy a carbon splitter....... they look great, but I'd cry if that happened to mine!
