LOL heres another Nick - both are me though. I just reformatted my computer which I do every 6 months or so just to get it running nice and fast again. Only problem was I lost all my cookies and logins and passwords, the lot. Hence the new login.
I think the best way to settle this one will be...
LOL Jon you got some front mate, Ill say that for you, its *you* thats playing catch up with *me*, I dont see your timing tickets anywhere near 14.48 my friend! ;)Youre right about one thing though...I *have* tried all sorts of mods but I wouldnt say theyve been fruitless...I still dont believe...
Not the right forum, I know, but I couldnt decide where to put it! Basically I need some advice on correct bulbs and power ratings to use in headlamps and stuff, plus mods to my lamps as well.
Im changing over my headlamps to Morette twins and you lose the indicators from the main unit - they...
BTW Matt, Im hoping itll be ready in the next couple of weeks, latest is that pretty much everythings there, my inlet manifolds still being polished and I just got my rocker cover chromed so thats ready to go back on.
LOL theres one for Jon. I think Mikeys said it all. 172man - if I wanted to drive a 172 and sit at home worrying about torque steer then thats what Id do...Ive spent far more money and time on my valver than a 172 would ever have cost, so just trust me that I know what Im doing. :)
To get back...
Dont buy second hand, seriously just go down to Renault and say you want an exchange WIlliams box, theyre definitely £550 + vat. You just give them your old one. And theyre not really exchange either, mine was shipped over from France/.
Demon Tweeks catalogue has all the prices for Samco hose, you need the red motorsport catalogue, not the blue boy racer one. Samflex is probably in there as well, I had a silicone/wire flexi hose a while back which was around £25 a metre
Seems very very cheap, still if it is genuine Willy with what I assume are mild fast road cams and head work, it should be a lot quicker especially if you get it chipped properly as well.
Cheers for the info Haitch (Ive already got mine) - which myths are we talking about?
Maciek - they manufacture their own discs which are about £60-£70 for the smaller discs, mine (325mm) are about £90 each. I think on the larger sizes than that eg 350+, you can get AP discs to fit.
Billet 4...
Kerb weight is aroud 980 kg for a 16v, seriously lighter wheels might take 10kg off that. Put it this way, Im running:
light wheels only 7kg each
no spare wheel OR cage
kevlar bucket seats in the front (6kg each)
no rear interior (seats, parcel shelf, seatbelts etc)
no jack in the...
Nice work ! Looks like a good day was had by all, well done Mat for organising it all, sorry I couldnt make it, obviously not having a Clio makes these sort of thing s a bit tricky....not long now...
Mikes said it all I think. My turbo conversion comes with one as standard because they are important. Lets say youve got the turbo spinning on full boost at 100,000 rpm which isnt that fast for a turbo. You let off the accelerator to change gear, the throttle plate closes, suddenly all that...
The problem with using an aircon system to cool the charge is that it would have nowhere near the capacity to cool the volumes of air that are required in an engine. If you think of say a 172, a 2 litre engine, 2 litres of air flows through it every revolution of the crank (or is it 1 litre per...
Just on another point, did anyone else see the BB turbo Clio trying to climb out of the rollers? Everyone always jokes about this sort of thing, but it really happened! Not by a lot but it was definitely lifting and climbing out slightly on full acceleration.
PBV on its own isnt a lot of use, you dont really need to alter the fuel pressure unless you can get more air in to match and youre getting so much air that the ECU is running the injectors fully open to compensate. An unlikely thing really. Once you get busy on other mods like head and cams, a...
Ive been almost done for false plates but not illegal spacing. I chose my new reg cos its one that doesnt need a stupid font or really mis-shaped letters or bolt heads to work properly. All thats need is a slight mis-spacing and the rest of its legal.
As long as youve got a spare set of plates...
Weird one this...yes the 14 day rule does normally apply for a NIP but thats for an alleged speeding offence which was an instantaneous event - hard to say afterwards what did or did not happen without hard evidence (although that doesnt stop the police trying it on as a matter of course!)...
Just my personal opinion, but 5s are a dying breed. Valver is 10x the quality of a 5. Spend a few grand at BB getting a low pressure turbo, youll have a reliable 190-200bhp in a decent car thats capable of proper speeds and is only slightly heavier than a 5GTT but a hell of a lot safer and...
lol yeah but Ben you cant say that fast road cams are a waste of time to all the people who run a fast road grind and are perfectly happy with the undeniable extra power and torque theyve had out of them. Who cares if theyre regrinds? If they work, they work, and I dont remember anyone lately...
Nice work Paul -we were just talking about that today at BB - but not tinting over the top of the plastic; but taking the plastic outer off, then tinting the whole silver reflective part in body colour just leaving the lamps as their normal colour.
Yeah there were quite a lot of us down there last night, the place was rammed as usual by 10 o clock, absolute roadblock up and down the seafront and some mental cars about.
