Well my results are the same as Leighs seeing as I drove...top day out as usual and apart from thanks to everyone who made the effort to come along today, big big thanks must go to BB Tuning for putting on a quality rolling road day, and especially to Ivan for organising the whole thing - nice...
LOL a 1.2 is never gonna set a new land speed record anyway so you might as well sort it out on 18s. I wonder how low you can go with those big rims on? Obviously the lower the better...
Lancs police only get away with that because no-one ever challenges them. If I ever got flashed in Lancs Id take it to court straight away, and like to see them explain how they were gonna prove you were say 2mph over the limit when the speedo is accepted as inaccurate by more than that!
lol as you know Leigh all those 16v bits will go on the Williams! Im thinking about that extra low spring kit now. Its too high off the ground at the moment.
Well we tried that last year and after the first dozen, no-one else was up for it! This year our big club meet that is definitely on the agenda is the PGAC French Car Show in Leicestershire which is pretty central. And no Im not biased to Leics before anyone says - Im from Southend the furthest...
A local place to me in Southend. It might be done by next week... but theyve got a lot of work on. Every major town should have a place that does chroming. Look in the yellow pages under electroplating
Keep up the good work John. In my experience with induction systems and various different hook-ups, dont worry too much if you cant get a huge bore pipe in there if its going to cause routing problems. If you need to go to 60mm to get a decent route, then go for 60mm instead of 75 or whatever...
The secret is, Rob, mine doesnt need any fake bolt heads or wacky fonts to look right, just a bit of creative spacing. Round my way at least, the police dont seem too bothered about spacing, its the silly fonts and tiny plates that will get you pulled over. And seeing as I always carry a spare...
Shorty - Craggy has the Cliosport credentials, you just need to have been around a little longer to realise why. His Willy is undergoing major restoration work so he runs around in a VTS until the insurance runs out.
IMHO - the VTS is fairly quick but I wouldnt say in the same league as a 172...
Well Ive sent mine off to be chromed. If you polish it you need some pretty good lacquer over it otherwise itll crack off with the heat coming off the manifold. Getting the rocker cover, strut brace and bonnet vent all done at the same time for £60.
lol Mike Ill have to remember to call you TATE instead next time I see you then!
I just bought K30 OST ready to go on my Clio Turbo once its on the road again:

Fred - yeah i will have to accept that it will probalbly be a bit louder than usual but what I mean is Ive never gone out of my way to make it noisy unless its a side effect of more power. Hence Im not having a 5" tailpipe - yet! If it turns out that it responds well to a big bore system all the...
Rob - yeah thats a point, max torque should really be around 4500 I suppose.
I thought Dannys problem was that he was launching too low in the revs, not too high, and my recommendation is in between max torque and max revs - 5500-6000 rpm, yes you want max torque but the last thing you want is...
lol another scalp then Craggy! Have you thought of having like silhouettes of all the cars youve beat down the side of your door with a cross through each one? Like a WW2 fighter pilot!
Phase 1 Clio has a 36 offset, or at least a 16v does. The offset is a measure of how far away the flat mounting face of the wheel is from the centreline (half way between the outer and inner edge of the rim). If you had a wheel with its mounting face exactly half way between the outer and inner...
I think theyre gonna make a comeback what with the new speed cameras that take a picture of the front of the car. Im not taking any chances with being identified!
Mat - theyre 4 pots, AFAIK the fluid crossover is internal rather than external. Leigh - youve got the same calipers, have yours got any other piperwork apart from the single brake hose?
lol John I didnt cover the seat embroidery mate, it was just by accident that the harnesses came over it like that!
Leigh - as long as my Clio isnt on the road which it probably wont be, Ill drive you on Sunday mate. Be nice to have a taste of power perfection again. I had a go in my mate...
Steve Ive had my valver for about 4 years and it has cost me heavily all the way. But I wouldnt ever sell it. Im just driving around an old Tipo at the moment, doesnt matter that my valvers off the road, cos I know Ill get it back soon. Wouldnt want anything else. Stick with the car you already...
Must be just cup parts cos my local parts desk get me anything within a day or two and the longest I ever waited was 5 days to have a brand new Williams gearbox made in France and shipped over.
Well its not that strange Rob, seeing as its a 16v engine which will naturally start to get going at higher revs, plus it has to be quite high up the revs on its variable timing system otherwise youd be forever on cam just going down to the shops! If max torque is at 5400 and max power is 6250 I...
