My 182 did the same when using the front jacking point... the rear wheel would lift too. Pretty sure the Ph1 172 did it, too.

There's a very good change you car has been smashed and repaired without going through the insurance. HPI is only good to see of the cars been stolen or on finance. Could be the clutch pedal linkage popping out? Happened twice on my 182, and certainly doesn't need a new clutch if it's that.

John, how old is the laptop? HP have a well known issue with some of their laptop batteries manufactured over a certain time. They have issued a recall on all batteries as they overheat and are known to combust. Basically this means you could get a new one. HP do not manufacture any...

You definitely need professional legal advice on this... but as a priority you NEED to recover your car from them.
