Mate thats a real b*****d...yours is (or was?) the super-mintiest valver I ever saw. You certainly wont be wanting a hundred quid blow-over to fix that mirror paintwork will you?
Still, look on the bright side, at least you still got a driveable car...Ive got to come down to Brands as a...
It all depends exactly what you want...with my Stage 2 head and fast road cams (Piper 270) I got a slightly lumpy idle and a small but noticeable increase in torque. Definitely worthwhile and made the 16v a lot more fun to drive. If you go to a 285 cam, whoever its made by, catcams, Piper, Kent...
Well to be honest the best way is to leave it alone AFAIK. You should only really use a breather filter on the end of your breather pipe if you actually need to...with my BMC carbon airbox theres no way of plumbing in the breather pipe into the back of the filter so Ive had to plug it with a...
Ive been thinking of doing the same job Ben, but going full on and doing the entire upper and lower dash in Alcantara. If you want blue we could go halves on a ten metre length? Actually what would you want 5 m of the stuff for? Maybe its time for as complete alcantara retrim?
Well mines easy - Nick Read means exactly what it says! I should have gone for something more hardcore like Master of the Universe or something. Maybe we should do the old thing of putting our cards in the front next to the tax? Oh actually then you dont get the forum handle then. OK what about...
thats a shame you think straightlining is boring, you must lead a pretty boring life because like it or not, you cant fling it about in the corners all the time. Whereas everywhere you go you can floor it and get pushed back in your seat. Even in a multistorey carpark!

Yeah theres all kind of ideas doing the rounds at the moment...maybe the 2.1 would work, who knows? I thought the 2.0 valves are only 32mm rather than 30mm. Its only 2mm bigger.
Yeah I suppose 300 would be nice. But whos to say that 200 in a car that weighs less than a tonne wouldnt outdrag a Porsche or big Merc? Obviously there will come a point where the aerodynamics and the gearing will see it running out of legs. But I dont see why 140-150mph shouldnt be attainable...
The breather lets the oil fumes out of the block. Normally the breather pipes are connected into the back of the air filter so that the fumes are pulled out of the block and burnt off in the cylinders. If you put a small filter on it, the fumes are not being drawn out of the block but it stops...
Its a lot of work on an RSi! In fact it was a lot of work on my valver! Just off the top of my head, if you wanted to do the job properly with money no object, youd go for coilovers for starters, then either severely roll out the arches or start chopping into them and reconstructing them a lot...
Yeah they are just an adjustable fuel pressure regulator sold in a kit with everything you need in one box, and with instructions which is handy if like me it was the first time Id ever messed about with the fuel system!
Useful for serious mods, nitrous, head work, wild cams, throttle body...
I cant understand the catcams specs that well, but they have given two values for each measurement depending on whether youre at 0.050" or 0.1mm. But at a glance it looks like both the Piper cams have a higher lift but everything else is *roughly* the same. The Piper 285 profile is as far as you...
Well my Beetle does that when I spin the back wheels off the line! Most cars make a bloody racket of some sort if you cane them. Thats why I dont do wheelspins in the Clio...
That sounds like a tidy car but due for a load of stuff to go wrong at 72k, cambelt, gearbox, clutch, power steering pump etc, all these things start to give up once you get past 72k if you havent replaced them already. Still at least the head must be in good condition.
£5k-£6k isnt...
Its not your imagination Ben. Ive got timing tickets from York that prove that running 15s will give you better times all through the run, as soon as youre rolling. The only point where they were crap (on my Clio) was off the line as they are too easy to spin up, 18s gave a much better launch...
