As the arches are already really scabby I'm not too fussed how much I had to destroy them lol. I think 45profiles might be the way forwards but really want to avoid spending like £250 on new tyres when these have done 30 miles. That and 50's are that much cheaper, and I'm a cheap skate :D
Looks awesome that does, what size tyres are you using? How much work was actually done to the rears? Rolling and pulling or any welding too? And camber etc?
Going to spend tomorrow on the thing, will play with calipers first then ***** about with the camber
Normally I would have made it the cheap way, but spending some time at this time of year in a scrap yard doesn't appeal to me any more, and it was in a group buy. I'd never pay £300 for it either ;)
mine did exactly the same, was really annoying especially on the back lanes i live near. Nothing i did ever resolved it, sorry to be of absolutely no use what so ever!
Not really. To get a realiable 450+ bhp in anything is going to cost £10k+
Why do people have these pipe dreams about buying a turbo car and just think 'I'll add a bigger turbo and have 9 million bhp with overnight parts from Japan' ffs. £15k-£20k to get the same power safely in a skyline, an...
Wouldn't like to say, but on the 7 inch wide version the dish is narrowed and don't look as good IMO. Could still work on the clio though. They are very very very close to the caliper in this offset. The fronts fit without outer arch work in 8inch, not sure how much inner arch beating they need...
the guy i bought the car off was using the same size wheel with same offset and same ride height and says it would run fine with 195/45/15 tyres but i cant see it myself. the car is litterally sat on the steelwork at the moment lol
ET0 15x8 wheels, 195/50/15 tyres.
The rear calipers have been filed down to allow the wheels to fit but still are using a 5mm spacer. I'm going to machine these on a mill and try and get rid of the spacers. With this size offset and tyre, the rear arches need pulling out as well as rolling...
Million percent what Gray said, I rarely actually drive the cars as I have two other vehicles to use before my 'toys'. I enjoy tinkering and building them mostly. Let's be honest, with the state of people's driving and British roads it's hard to enjoy a car like this or the sc'd clio unless on...
Spent a bit of time on it this evening. Aircon removed and old rad taken out for good. I've taken the lights out to tidy up the wiring of the HID's. Having OCD and being an electrical locksmith, I hate loose wires floating around so all needs a clean up. I've lost all the amalgamating tape I had...
Impulse buying ftl. Didn't buy the crank pulley, it's more hassle than its worth and cost I don't need at the moment. If I've still got the car when the cambelt needs doing again then I'll buy the uprated CP then.
Hopefully get some time on it this weekend to design these rear arches...
My life wouldn't be worth living if I cancelled anything.
Ordered myself a nice new pure Motorsport aircon delete kit today, can bin all the rusty crap out the front of the front now
Thanks for the comments, it's helping me get on with it. Tonight I pulled the radiator out and fixed the leak in it but might just stick the rad out the sc'd Clio into it, at least I know it works fine...
Will pull out the aircon now as well, have been informed it doesn't work by previous owner...
well Christopher, I dont think anyone can argue that they genuinely are Rota ;) I was waiting for you to comment on that lol
I'm never sensible Willdot, even the MX5 ended up with welded diff, a cage (for a week) and a sub the size of the boot itself. tompin' bass blud.
I have a few ideas in...
thanks everyone :)
Gray, will have a proper look under the car when its dry and see how much of the exhaust has been cut and welded before, unsure whats fitted in there at the moment.
Daniel, Sam is still about on here and fb should you need to bum him?
Fred, I picked this up the...
Well hello ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another instalment of 'how to waste as much cash as you see fit on a clio'
As a few people know, for 5 years I owned and played with my silver ph1, it went well and at 275bhp was pretty nippy. I stripped and sold it to make way for weddings and...
and we were abusing that thing something cronic round Coombe when it went bang ;)
i miss my boosted clio, it wasnt broken when i stripped it and my gearbox was perfectly fine. i miss it, badly
looks awesome mate, a credit to you. i didnt mind my welded diif but wasnt being used as a daily so was never a problem. would always laugh when trying to park though
