Dash you cant be serious mate, Ive never even driven a 172 let along a V6! Although if you really want me to I think I could manage a quick blast up the quarter and your clutch is guaranteed not to get a hammering - I never sidestep it, just feed in the power.
Ben - exactly! My Clio is never...
Yeah my Toyos are good in the dry, they grip and grip...but with a few thousand miles wear on them, they are becoming nasty in the wet. Very different from my old Goodyear Eagles which were superb throughout their life.
Yeah nice one Matt. But that one labelled as me, isnt me! The one with me vs Jon is right though...I can hear the bang from my exhaust but cant see the flames!
Mike - good work mate, I hope 172 slayer is paying attention, you slaughtered that Tomcat.

Sylvia - when I got into school on Monday, the kids were saying Mr Read, someones been doing graffiti all over your car! Then I realised that I had left my race number on the rear side window! Still nice to know that they were worried...
I let them read CCC and Autocar during silent reading...
Youve said it all des. Plus if someone has still got a mint garaged Willy 1 with 10k on the clock in ten years time, Ill pay 5 to 10 grand for it. Would I pay that for a valver? No. And not a 172 or a cup either, although I definitely like both the newer Clios and think theyre great all round...
BTW another thing is that there is much more to 1/4 miling that just a book power figure and a theoretical ET, as everyone whos 1/4 miling knows.
GR - yes youre right about hustling around the B roads though, I love it. The only problem is, the roads round Essex are crap and there is too much...
hehe Dash mate youve opened up a whole can of worms! York is a long way but as you know, you and I only live a couple of miles from each other, and I think its definitely worth it, even from Southend! It was a superb weekend away for me and the wife.
GR thats fair enough and ok my car gets a...
So there we have it. Good detective work Joe, hopefully we can wrap this one up now. Plus it shows that York is a top venue. Youd be lucky to ever get an answer to an email from Santa Pod...
In the meantime I better remember:
must throw litter in front of beams, must thrown litter in front...
Dont really like either. Revs is about the only one of those sort of mags that I read, cos they still do good DIY modding stuff in them. The others seem to be for people who pay others to do the work for them then want to bask in the glory.
Though even Revs is getting a bit top shelf now. A...

Yeah I was wondering how youd get on Mat. The headlight out would definitely help with the IK because really the cone is bound to flow better just because of its shape and size. Have you tried normal road driving with the IK and the airbox? You should find that most of the time (with the...
Another thing could be a racers front bumper incorporating the usual middle bit for the rad, but then the offside would be a duct for an oil cooler and the nearside would have a ramscoop in it that you could hook up to your airbox or filter. Obviously no foglights but you could probably find...
The one thing Ive always thought about but never done is a Peugeot WRC style air filter on a Clio. Basically youd have an airbox attached to the throttle body which would fit flush to the underneath of the bonnet when the bonnet was shut. Above the filter cut into the bonnet would be a big kind...
Mat let me know if youre thinking of a trip to the Pod. I might be persuaded if Im not busy and Ive finished my mods. Im fitting a carbon airbox next week and will need to test it out so RWYB will be just the thing. I clocked the 14.48 at York and then hit the road cos I was pretty sure that it...
Yes I would say that the main problems with nitrous use are air/fuel ratio and rpm linking. I have no problems with my ratios because everything is so adjustable with the way I have my car set up. But certainly if the controller could take care of the bottle pressure automatically this would...
If someone else was paying I would have the V6 just cos its expensive and has a lot of toys. But realistically out of that lot, the Willy would take pride of place for me. It will always be a classic hot hatch that no-one can mistake.

Well Im one of the people whos kept up with a Scooby, an RB5 and my driveshaft was hanging out and the gearbox full of bearings! Mine is ever so slightly modded though. I would have thought I could overhaul a Scooby at any speed with the way my Clio is going at the moment.
But a Scooby is a...

My advice is if you dont like rattles, dont buy a Renault. The rattles are actually designed in at the very earliest stages of each Renault concept car. Various methods of achieving rattles, squeaks and clunks are used, mainly being the use of the cheapest plastic you can get and not tightening...
