I guess you mean the green oil switch on the front of the block as you were referring to it as the oil pressure switch? If so, it has nothing at all to do with the oil level display on the dashboard...
All its for is to show the Oil Pressure (red oil can) warning light on the dashboard if the...
You should have just given Henk the VIN of the car the engine is from when he asked either way, even if he did ask for the 1.2's one. Most likely should have worked.......I just gave him the VIN of the 172 lump, worked fine on mine, dont even know what my Mk1 VIN starts with
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Car was looking well before Sam...thought yeah its gotta be him there aint' no other mega low Lupos round here that ive seen!
IMO makes f**k all difference to anything apart from the heat coming from the manifold.
Im running it on mine due to the manifold being VERY close to the brake lines on the Mk1 shell, and I didnt have anything to use as a heatshield at the time, only wrap from when I did my Williams Manifold...
Earthing the engine will do nothing to the coilpack. The internals of the coil get earthed by the ECU, which then completes the circuit due to the 12v constant being supplied.
this is just a complete mess of confusion now.
TBH I dont see why the emu will not work on the Sirius34 ecu as long as its connected to the right pin....the UCH's output the same signal weather it be Ph1 and Ph2...ive tested both, still got my Ph1 one.
If you connect it back to the UCH it most...
No, it wont run without a code. The SIRIUS ecu's need a code present when running all maps (EXCEPT the 1.4 16v lap, which the ECU clinic put onto mine when they f**ked it up, thinking I would not realise). Every other map requires an immobiliser code (weather it be from the UCH or Emulator) to...
Mine does this...
Ive replaced the idle control valve, ive had the throttle body completely off and cleaned it all out, then re-fitted with new gasket. Also replaced the throttle cable, and it still does it....so im putting it down the spring internally in the throttle body tbh!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Yeah, it was just a summary of all the fun times that have been had this year, weather it be spins or otherwise!
Car weighs ~810-812kg with the Superleggeras, 820kg with the Williams Speedlines.
Ignore the UCH, its not needed for immobiliser functions now you've installed an emulator.
If the solenoid was stuck you would not hear anything...exactly as you describe.
The solenoid is just a magnet, when you turn the key a small current attracts two parts together to force the cog into the...
haha, I was even doing like 10mph as it was the first time Id been round there since the cambelt incident last year, and it just went! Unfortunately Naith didnt experience any moments, he came out with me on the driest session, lol.
Thanks for the comments everyone :)
Starter motor has nothing to do with anything relating to the ECU...
Give the starter/solenoid a tap with a bar/hammer just to see if the solenoid is stuck, because that has to fire and only then will the motor turn over.
If its still no go after that it has to be a dud battery or dodgy...
Done either of those too Jay?
Either snap pin 58 off externally or cut the wire....
Then once youve done that carry on. Does the starter solenoid fire or not?
Pin 58 (yellow on yours, middle row 3rd in from the right) is correct.
The other two are on the wrong pins...they should be like:
Its the bottom row as you have it opened up, not the top...
But this wouldnt affect the starter motor as it should still crank over
take a pic of the inside of your ECU and post it in here...
Find pin 58 on your loom for the ECU connector too, and cut the wire...this way nothing can interfere.
So the starter isnt even cranking?
