I might try and get hold of a f*cked 172/182 box with a bolt in diff and see if it will transfer to my spare JB3 with the popped circlip, the casing looks very similar
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Funny you say that, there is a Grey Mk1 1.2 at Radcliffe auctions, saw it on autotrader for £450, but also listed on their stock list for auction? Didnt understand that....
Also, seems none of their cars have tax from their website?
Ive never seen another valver JB3 with bolt in diff for sale on any of the sites (yet)...
I was thinking the other day though, if a 182 diff (which has the bolt in diff) would fit into the valver casing?
I have the reciept for mine when it was bought from Renault by the previous owner, £1200...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Ones ive been to in the past all start at like £500 minimum, I need to go to one that has no-reserve really. Il probably end up getting something from an auction then the door fall off 10 miles down the road knowing my luck!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Yeah, I rekon Yozzas will go to 400 or so though. Im still pretty much certain I can get something with tax + mot (to last til feb/march) for £200 or less, seen quite a few go on ebay (106 1.1s etc) for that and less!
Will just have to keep an eye out!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Where's these cheapies???
I cant see any! http://ebayshowroom.ebaymotorspro.co.uk/showroom.html?customerId=1020940&adId=12000000004011093
you should be getting 12v constant or thereabouts on cranking on that one wire.
the other two are earths. The ECU earths them one then the other in sequence to create the spark
M14 bolt is sport models yeah.
M12 bolt hole was all non sport (1.2/1.4/1.5/1.6), which is the same bolt size as a Mk1 Valver/Williams.
AFAIK from reading, and from dialogys/tech notes, all non-sports were either 52mm or 58mm........but oddly the Mk1 Valver/Williams were the same hub (use...
Could only find a WHSmith shatterproof ruler, lol.
AFAIK the only model that is different on the 1*2s is the trophy, as well as possibly some variation of the 182, which are 60mm...but considering the thread was 172s, there you go :)
LOL, I really cant be arsed going getting the hubs and a set of verniers to get pics.
I will just remain confident that what hubs ive personally had and used from 172s have been what ive said above, and let you believe what info you want lol!
Well I'm running 54mm coilovers on hubs I removed from 172 Ph1, lol
Got spares that have been machined down for my car also, one from a Cup and one from a 172 FF....both 54mm too
Nah itl be fine, just dont do it mega tight...just nip it up and it will be plenty enough to hold it....only taking 0.5mm off the edges of the hole after all
Used the vice bolted down to the table, then the 'non threaded' part of the coilover in the vice, doesn't really need to be too tight as its not like your taking huge chunks of material off...
Coilover on its side so to speak, so the holes are flat/horizontal to the tool. Just did one side at a...
Emulator - http://www.tek-tronics.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=80
Paul @ RSTuning can Virginise it, as well as any other ECU decoding place really (just dont use ECU Clinic), google for them! If you find someone and they ask what you want doing, just say you want it Virginising.
Once its...
For a start, the ECU (regardless of weather the immobiliser is active or not) will always prime the pump, and run it on cranking.
If the immobiliser is ON...the injectors will not fire, and the coilpack will not spark (the coil will receive 12v from the ECU, but not earth it to spark).
If the...
Tried a different ECU?
If the ECU was locked (immobiliser active) the injectors will not fire, so im guessing it cant be that. had this many a time on mine before, in the end I ran an emulator on the ECU to f*ck the immobilser off all together. Never had a problem since.
Are you trying to run...
