    Trax 2009

sounds like it was a good day from the various threads/posts ive seen. I would have made the effort if my stand pass had arrived in time, wasnt going to drive 3 hours each way on a off-chance that I could get on the stand. No doubt it will turn up tommorow.

Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project [Year 3 - Engine and Chassis Rebuild]

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project Yeah, i just checked it again earlier (50miles later) and its still rock solid...doubt it will stay what way forever though. Il keep a lookout for one, then will just have to get it machined again to 22mm

    Dephaser pulley

Its a pulley that can phase/shift the cam timing on the inlet pulley via the means of a solenoid on the top of the rocker cover, to aid low revs drivability (VVT) If your having the belts changed its the ideal time to change it, as the pulleys have to be slackened off to do the timing belt...

Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project [Year 3 - Engine and Chassis Rebuild]

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project Well, you were correct andrew, the drivers side upright was slightly worn, but i put a new balljoint on and tightened it up seriously tight, the pinch part where the bolt goes through is as tight as it will go and there is no movement at all, so hopefully...

    The 1.2 drop out.....

you will still hear the pump run, regardless of weather its got fuel in or not... the pitch of the pumps noise changes if there is no fuel in the tank
  19. F

    The 1.2 drop out.....

look at the connector, find the ignition live and the earth, unplug connector, and put two wires on the two pins you located... I did that when my pump failed, used it to check new pump and it worked fine
  20. F

    The 1.2 drop out.....

hook up a live to the pump with a spare bit of wire (and an earth obviously) and see if the pump runs, if it doesn't the pump is knackered....

Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project [Year 3 - Engine and Chassis Rebuild]

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project Ah yeah, get you now. Well when I picked up another balljoint today, it was showing two parts. 14mm and 16mm. I just got one the same as the one I had in my hand that was taken to compare with, unsure what size the 172 is meant to be? If worst comes to the...

Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project [Year 3 - Engine and Chassis Rebuild]

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project Cool, will check the bearings in the morning. You mean check the hub where the upright goes in? Check if that is tapered? If it is, does that mean new hub time?
