20 quid or so from factors, need a hydraulic press to be honest (garage)
jack up and undo the hub nut on the drum, then take the face of the drum to the garage....press old one out, press new one in, refit.....done!
sounds like it.....the camber you put on (and the height/lowness of it) wont be doing it many favors, so it will go through bearings quicker than it would normally
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Ordered a new throttle body gasket from Renault earlier, the sticking throttle is beginning to p*ss me off, and its getting worse. Hopefully cleaning all the crap out of it will sort it, as many find on here!
Rear wheel bearing is whirring quite nicely now...
I acctually went into the store last time and they refused as I hadnt got applecare!
Anyway, after a LOT of hassle (I think its just the trafford center lot, but meh) I got it replaced, F.O.C.
Found out in other countries the 60w+80w Magsafes had been recalled due to the problem, but apple...
the idea behind the timing tools is there because of the 'renault' F4 timing method, where the pullies are supposed to be slackened, new belt fitted, then turned through rotation to neutralize and set the tension, then tighten the pullies back up.....
If you dont want to use that method, and...
Very good turnout for a short notice meet, 22/23 cars throughout the evening! Good banter as usual...here are some of my quick picture efforts at high ISO, hopefully Ian got some good ones
Very quick panoramic effort...
Then they decided which one was better :rasp:
A quick panoramic pic effort, lol.
Think there were a couple more cars at one point, 22 in total, not bad for a last minute meet!

As said, VERY good turnout!
We were some of the last to leave, saw a traffic car as I came onto the main road who had pulled someone so I went round the back roads towards home, not sure if it was someone at the meet who had been pulled as they left or not mind!
lol good ole halfrauds, what jokers...
The guy ordered mine in fine, I specifically went in and just said...
"I want to order some spigot rings, 67.1 to 60.1."
Came in around 5 days later, £1.97 each.
That was it, done. I never bother getting into discussions with halfrauds employees in...
could be 69.1 or 70.1, you need to find a way of properly measuring the center bore...
Then go to halfrauds, and they can get them for £2 each ordered in, just tell them you want (measured size)--to--60.1
Mine was exactly the same, I sent them back, Renault said it was a manufacturing fault apparently (on the most recent batch)... They would have had to go back to france, be checked then new ones sent out, couldnt be bothered with the hassle...
So I did the same and filed the little lip off...
How odd!
Mine are the little spring type washers, I thought without them the bolt heads would just dig into the metal....but if they said that I guess not!
I use the 6mm crank pin, the gearbox end tool (horseshoe), and the pully locking tool. All with the cambelt still in place, which takes some of the strain off the tools.
Also, I dont buy/use the cheap copy tools (Which are the ones that WILL bend, Laser etc.) I have the genuine renault items.
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Not really, just using up my left overs from this year, then will sort out tyres for next year over the winter :)
Few from a bit of a meet we had this evening...
Met up with Alex C earlier, was good to see Jamies old car again! Bifcaids joined us for a few pictures, looking miles better with some rear camber :approve:
Support the engine with a jack and remove the top mount...
Then you ideally need to get the engine to TDC, and lock the crank from the timing hole on the front with a 6mm pin. You also really need to lock the cams on the gearbox end, so you can undo the pullies.
IIRC the inlet pulley/cam will...
