Now you've really let your self in for Mk1 ownership, RAC/AA at the ready lol!
There is a couple more pics, just checked. Il sort them and PM them to you in the morning.
Yeah, I think Lee mentioned the stub axle being bent which caused it to happen, and caused the problems with the pads, but...
Possibly, there was 3 of us using the same camera (not even mine) ive yet to sort through the rest of the pics...Il have a check :)
Not sure who it is!
;)
If you go to my youtube all of the sessions are there, there could possibly be more but Im not 100% sure off the top of my head!
And here are the videos. I made two compilations, one for Saturday, one for Sunday. Quite a few people make an appearance in the Saturday one, and some others make an appearance in the 2nd compilation from Sunday. Check the description for the video on YouTube if you want to know who is who...
After going to the charity weekend in April earlier this year, a few of us decided to go back again as it was a good weekend. Good to see some new people on track too, along with the usual's!
200miles each way for us, so we stayed down there for 3 nights a few miles from Marham, ideal. Tried to...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
As said, no real problems at Marham, so not much else to update. Few pictures and videos below :)
Couple from where we were staying...
Few on track...
Here are my favourite bits from Saturday...
DbnZ7i2AG24...
proper trackdays are obviously more focused, i only go to marham for the laugh and a weekend away, 4 hours each way for us lot.....snetterton is further for us I think?! would need to be some cheeeeeeeeap accomodation
Luckily Cadwell/Oulton arent as far, which are a better trackday but nothing...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Dont know, its only 45-50, cant make that much difference really can it? did feel alot different, steering wise too, but still, its quite a bit of weight saved on each corner and it did get up to speed faster than it normally does...
50's are going on now...
Glad the ECU has got the right map on it lol!
Not much in it at all between them, rekon that map on mine makes a bit more mid range torque and its only the higher limiter allowing the higher top speed...
Riley commented when he was out in mine that he thinks mine revs differently, and feel's...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Just got back from Marham, no major problems with the car all weekend! :) Covered about 600 or so miles, and killed all 4 tyres on the Superleggeras, but all in all alot of fun.
The superleggeras make a decent difference in acceleration time, and speed once...
Nice pics Danny, some good ones of mine, too bad I had the ghey williams wheels on the back on sunday.
Glad you liked it andy, too bad I didnt get the epic drift on camera eh? LOL
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Passenger side is a bit of tight fit, well very, but it will do for now :)
New exhaust manifold gasket fitted, brakes bled through with fresh fluid. Black Samco fitted for the airbox. Sunstrip done yesterday (still undecided about it but it will...
Well its just a stock 172 engine at the moment with no pas/aircon etc. Did have Schrick cams in it but they were not mapped properly so its back on standards for now.
If it does come in at 800kgs, its around 215bhp/tonne.
It needs the cams back in (and hopefully hit 190bhp) to get to past...
as said im nearly at 800 with the superleggeras fitted, with around 40kgs of cage in that....all standard panels, just with skins removed (bonnet, doors and boot), all windows polycarbonate etc.
Beaniemoo's Mk1 is slightly lighter iirc, but thats with fiberglass doors/boot/bonnet and carbon...
sound deadening is an easy job, heatgun and wallpaper scraper, then white spirits to clean up the glue left behind..
other things are like battery as Cunney said, polycarbonate windows, lightweight wheels, etc.
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Ive yet to fit them (hate 45 profile tyres), might try one on tomorrow though!
Need to pop the spigot rings in too, halfrauds came through and supplied me with some to order :)
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Quite a few jobs done over the past few days in preperation for Marham this weekend, leaving on friday morning and still got a few bits to sort tommorow...
The superleggeras have been done satin black (rattle cans for now)...
Also fixed all the ghey...
yep the computer needs resetting....renault=expensive, apparently there is some german company that does it quite a bit cheaper.....
after that you'l need a resistor in the connector too, as atouba said
Oh, that would explain it then :)
I wasnt sure if the stop light was supposed to be on when stopped with the handbrake on or not....if its not the only other thing it could be is that brake fluid level thing which should be running off the same wire as the handbrake light
They are early Ph1 dials....
Ive just been out in it, the STOP light goes off with the handbrake light (ie when I put handbrake down)....but as soon as you apply the handbrake the STOP light comes back on?!
yeah, well my brake fluid switch isnt even connected (i dont have one), and the handbrake light works as normal (goes off when put handbrake down)....but the mystery is why is the STOP light on with no other lights, very odd
