hehe theres a whole can of worms here...I just cant believe that any standardish or standard 172 will do low 6s of any kind. Theyre quick but not that quick. The 0-100 in 13.5 seconds is bloody quick and sounds well off the mark. If that is a true reading then I wanna see it 1/4 mile - with that...
I tend to agree with Ad, but then again its your motor and its up to you what you do with it. Best bet for a 16v bonnet is either a scrappy or I hear that theyre actully pretty cheap brand new from Renault at the moment.
Better to go for plates that could actually be road legal numbers rather than totally made up showroom plates.
Ive got N1CK R, Wongys got W8NGY, Dave has D4VE G, Leigh I think got L31GH F made up.
Desmondo could be D35MND. Tricky cos its a long name.
Tony just got a wicked plate made up...
Tell em if they want to get the number they better come round and find it themselves. The only time I ever saw my engine number was with the engine out. If I remember right its a tag on the front of the block. Basically theres no way of seeing it without a lot of the engine ancillaries removed...

Weird. Doesnt yours just unscrew like everyone elses? You dont need to mess about with the sunroof or the roof lining or anything...
Just get one off any modern Peugeot, its the same thread as the 16v base and just screws straight in.
hehe that is a right Micro Machine. Better get some Baby Bio as your next mod I reckon. Corner splitters can be ok if you blend them into the bodywork.
Yeah definitely Joe, Id go along with that, get an oil cooler if you need it, otherwise its not necessary. An overcooled engine is just as bad as an overheated one when youre giving it some stick. I drive mine hard and cruising at 125 on my private motorway test track, and B-road thrashing...
Yeah theres a very simple reason why you see hardly any 16v or Willy with aftermarket seats (or aftermarket steering wheels come to think of it, although theyre not quite as rare) - its cos Renault actually got it right first time.
Leather can be had for less than £600 but if youre thinking...
I cant listen to the radio while Im driving - especially in the daytime they talk too much. The worst thing is when they do a traffic broadcast so your CD interrupts and you can listen to the latest news. Then they forget to switch the traffic signal off so you have to listen to their inane...
1. Fast B-road driving up and down hills, round sweeping curves, no traffic around, blipping the throttle on the downchanges into each bend.
2. Burning up BMW drivers.
3. Old men stopping while Im working on the car and saying nice wheels son!
4. Lining up for the traffic lights grand...

So who was the mystery black Clio...14.9? I heard 14.2 or maybe its my imagination.
I pulled a 15.2 @91mph the weekend before on my one and only run. I hadnt even programmed the controller right, it was just a warm up, my first run at the Pod since last summer!
So realistically Im hoping...
I wouldnt go for the Nova as a 1/4 miling machine. The 5 GTT is the weapon of choice. Buy a shed for £500 strip it out so its only a drivers seat, spend 3 grand on the lump and transmission and you have a 13 second car.
well on my way to Braintree the other day there was a long straight stretch with half a mile visibility and enough width for 3 cars. Not a single house and hardly any side roads around. Brand new 40mph signs right next to the old national limit signs which had been spray painted black.
Id...
