How irritating, took my 182 to ETB get it tracked as it was pulling to the right a bit on acceleration and they confirmed it was a bit out but after a while of puffing just went "oh we cant free it its seized, take it to someone to free it off and we will set your tracking" I thought that is...
Getting my steering wheel re-trimmed by Mikey on here, done a search but cant really find many different examples. Its for a 182ff in arctic and I cant decide what to get done. Any pictures of yours done would be great.
I have a set of sportlines that the paint have chipped on quite badly where they touch the dampers and where the coils touch on compression. They also have slightly worn flat patches where the springs touch on compression, are they still good enough to use or are they past it? Dom
my fix is rubber pondliner from work rolled into 20-25mm rolls and pushed into the gaps between the arms of the renault mount then cable tied through the hole in the middle. Job done!
Sportlines going on then
Well my 182 only has 40k on it and feels smooth yet stiff. Ive got some sportlines sat here but was looking to see what others had found. Cant decide if I want to molest my perfect ff
I have had them on my ph1 but that had almost crude suspension compared with my 182ff, I just thought cup pack suspension would be better than sportlines or is it more of a case that the shocks are where the improvement is more so than the springs?
tried searching, do I fit sportlines or are the standard cup pack springs better, since moving to my 182ff from my ph1 172 I like not having crashy suspension and more internal rattles. Will my 182 be the same with them? Dont want to ruin my rattle free drive. Dom
my brother drove his Fiat X19 less than 1/2 a mile in a small town to get work done on it for the mot, no tax no mot so therefore no insurance. He stalled and couldnt get it started on a roundabout 200 yards from the garage and a policewoman came to his aid - 6 points and a £300 fine!
yep last week, mine has stopped for the most part for some reason but I think it may be the top mounts catching on the turrets but not yet had daylight to look and confirm. easy fix if it is though. There is a guide on here somewhere.
Hmm I might be wrong but it sounds like its coming from lower down. I will have to have a look tomorrow. If I sit engine running and steer (to the right mostly) it grumbles as the power steering cuts in and I thought it sounded metallic. Thanks for the strut idea though,I think I will just do...
no its a bit more of a crunch/creak noise (almost like dry steering on gravel or ice) and a few times it sounded like a slight belt squeak, just weird that it disappeared so I went around the car park at work going lock to lock and it was fine but the later on it was back but not as severe. My...
My 172 has what I first thought was a knackered ps pump as it was grinding/crunching and sometimes a belt squeal near full lock or at car park speeds when turning.
Today it seemed to have disappeared or nearly except the odd grinding noise near to full lock. One other theory was a loose aux...
