Spoke to Nic and he's going to have a look on Saturday. Spoke on phone to him. He was recommending I get all belts done for piece of mind but it is a lot of money. Depends how long I'm gonna keep car and how long it's gonna run well before costing me more money!

Turned out to be MAP sensor. Was running way rich. He pulled sensor out and stuck his finger over hole and it sounded better straight away. Bloody engine diagnostic cost me £73 though. It's passed now but god if I'd of known what it was I'd be £73 better off. Only took him 15 mins as well :mad:

Coil packs are often bad on 1.2s. If got a 172 on 110k so I'd say engines are good for a lot more the 50ks

So in the kit I got the idler etc. So that should mean that it's fine and it's the bearing on the alternator or water pump yeah? Local garage suggested just putting a new belt on and see if that does it. What do you think. Anyone fancy having a look at it? Fred maybe?

Is it the ph1 one. You know one pack for all four leads not the pencil type

It is a genuine Renault one. I paid stealers £50 for it. Tensioner is fine now just the squeak. Please read posts properly.
