That drives me almost as mad as when people post screen shots from their phone without cropping them, or people who can't rotate their phone by 90 degrees to take a picture.
I think you're right there. I don't think the MSA will be happy until we're all in FIA homologated cars that cost huge sums of money.
I'm keen to weigh the Escort. It's pretty close to finished now so it's going to be interesting to see where it's at. The works cars were homologated at 960kg...
A shame we have to keep steel doors to be honest, as that's a big weight saving that's restricted. Saying that, I can certainly understand why they don't allow it. Have heard they are going to stop people cutting the inside of steel doors out too.
If you want a heavy rally car, try pushing my...
On the subject of prices, I think they have crept up a little. Or at least a lot of the cheaper cars have dried up. I paid £1350 for my 172 Cup four years ago. I've added 30k miles to it, put a dent in the side of it and have recently been offered £1300 for it, so it hasn't lost anything...
Love this, looks brilliant. Think I would have the dash/door cards flocked to match the seats but it's epic generally. I would have been tempted to leave it badged as a Nissan, just to confuse people even more.
I've done Javelin track days and always found them to be ok, no worse than MSVT ones in my experience. What was so bad about it? I'm sure if it was raining, the photographer deserves a bit of slack. Would you have stood out there in the rain taking pictures lol.
Shame it was skittish but that's...
Mileage isn't a big issue provided it's been looked after. Mine has done almost 140k and I am using it daily at the moment. In the 30-odd thousand miles I've drived it, it's had the belts done, regular servicing, the lambda sensors replaced and a set of injectors. The engines in them are pretty...
The arguments about whether powder coating is safe is as old as the hills. Must be thousands and thousands of cars out there with powder coated wheels that are fine though.
I very much doubt that blasting would cause cracking in the wheels. The term 'sandblasting' is a bit generic really, as any good blaster should have access to a range of mediums. I think you were probably just unlucky with the last set.
It does look lovely. I do like them a lot.
Like you say, I'm sure it's fast enough to be fun. I think we get caught up in big numbers nowadays though. Bet it's a riot.
